QUOTE(Poster Tit @ Feb 21 2010, 12:51 AM) saw some people fixing wires around my area, Cheras, since last month, that was on the town main road (Cheras Perdana) just 3 days ago i saw 2 men digging and doing something at my housing area, it was weird, since usually if TM people doing maintainence, they would just open up that giant cylinder shaped thingy, but this time they dug and had a construction sign about jalur lebar pantas internet this and that. Asked the, it was noisy, i said is it HSBB? they said yaaaa Cool, Yesterday my place at bangi near seksyen 1, beside main road also saw contractor hold a fiber optic. And i'v got annoucement today in my letter say tm will upgrade streamyx copper wire to fiber optic in this month, and march, i think normal streamyx plan but more accurate n stable service becose using fiber, i dont know if kajang also same upgrade with this, they dont say.

Dlink DIR-615 QUOTE Highlights from low-tier Draft-N roundup (disclosure: affiliated, though interpretation/conclusions may not reflect stated views): -Only 32 simultaneous connections, compared to 80 for the next lowest device. This is not a router you want to use BitTorrent with. -50% throughput loss when using WEP/WPA. -Shorter range than comparable devices. May be sufficient for small apartments, but you may experience problems w/ multifloor locations. -On the bright side, you're likely to be using G clients. Wireless throughput is within 30% of reaching performance provided by high-end equipment.
Auto-QoS wasn't supported at the time of the review, but was added to the latest firmware (for hardware revision B2). It's not a bad router, as its overall performance, although lower than everything else, is only behind by a small margin. The dismal number of simultaneous connections is a step back to 2003 though; for this reason I wouldn't recommend its use in anything more than households w/ 1-2 concurrent users. Review: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/30387/96/Basically it's worrying to use this router for torrenting :/

Sigh!!! I called them up and forced them to give me a free HSBB trial (because I am a private individual in a house but I have a RM688/month Streamyx Enterprise package for five years already). They said okay after I strongly persuaded them (hehe), but when they went to check my access, they said my exchange isn't activated yet! I live in Shah Alam and there is a FTTH box on the telephone pole outside my house, so I thought it should be okay. This post has been edited by DeaDLocK: Feb 23 2010, 10:50 AM

to be honest, you can use a G-based router for fibre-based network connection. Virgin UK offered me a NETGEAR G router along with their 20mbps fibre network service, so I don't really see a problem using a G-based router on a FTTH connection. Unless if you're pc is way too far away from your router i suppose....XD
