Nah the ping is still very crappy so no point.Post gaming ping when the problem is fixed.

pls stop the price speculation unless you've got solid evidence, cos i just spoke to my ex-school mate who's working in TM & is involved in the development of the IPTV service.. & even he doesnt know what the price will be.  apparently its a tightly kept secret. But 1 thing is for sure, there will be 3 packages for home users:

- 5 mbps basic package, internet only no value added service
- 10 mbps w/ iptv & phone
- 20 mbps w/ iptv & phone

what he says is that the iptv n stuff is just a value added service, so don't expect too much from it. cheers

Well, if you guys read today's The Star there's an article on ManUtd deal with TM. There, they mention the cheapest package is around RM100.

TM, which has spent RM1.8bil in capital expenditure for HSBB, is set to launch its next-generation HSBB retail service on March 24 where it will also be unveiling the new branding for this service as well as its tiered packages and pricing. The HSBB retail packages will comprise triple-play services of voice, video (Internet-Protocol TV and video on demand) as well as high-speed Internet.

AmResearch in a report said demand for TM’s upcoming video services would largely hinge on pricing and contents offered.

“We foresee HSBB having a take-up rate in the region of 20,000 by year-end. This will further expand to 110,000 by the end of 2011. Our main assumption hinges on the RM100/month package – the lowest package on offer,” the report added.

i got reliable source saying min package is 10mbps - RM168

i rmb a fren saying tht he had like 20mb connection for i dunno how much aussie dollars
but cap to like 20gb a month ? I GUARANTEE the price vs SPEED will be like so tempting.

but after u look at the SMALL SMALL writing behind the T&C.... HAHA thats the part where it
will suck like hell. U knw la malaysia...i rather stick to the 1 or 2mb connection with dynamic IP.

oh yea. with the HSSB will it be dynamic or static? if static.....mampus la.. how to rapidshare all..

packages will be 5/10/20 Mbps and they don't give any information about price. lets wait and see...

I'm sure the 5mbps would cater for those who wants higher speed compared to Streamyx but at the same time don't need 10mbps and above.

TM To Launch HSBB Retail Service March 24

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- Telekom Malaysia Bhd ™ will launch its next-generation high-speed broadband (HSBB) retail service at Dataran Merdeka here on March 24.

In a statement, TM said the launch would feature showcases and interactive exhibitions to demonstrate the high-speed broadband lifestyle.

"The launch venue will be opened from 7.00pm onwards and the HSBB showcase and interactive exhibitions will remain at Dataran Merdeka until Thursday evening (March 25).

"These showcases will feature multimedia applications for entertainment -- including interactive games and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV)," it said.

TM invites the public to see, touch and feel the exhibits and showcases to experience how it will be like to live and work in a high-speed broadband-enabled environment.

The viewing times for the showcases are: March 24 (7.00pm-10.30pm) and March 25 (8.00pm-10.00pm).

There will also be entertainment and activities like games and contests, lucky draws and open air concerts featuring Bunkface, Aizat, Pop Shuvit, Faizal Tahir, Tomok and Stacy.

To mark the countdown to the launch, Menara TM will be lit up every evening from Mar 18, with a graphical countdown projection beam depicting the number '1' of 1Malaysia leading up to the gala launch date.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be the guest of honour at the main event in Dataran Merdeka were he will launch both the National Broadband Implementation (NBI) initiative and TM's HSBB service -- which is also one of the NBI's flagship initiative.

The NBI launch will feature a live crossover feed to Sarawak, while TM will be unveiling the new branding for its HSBB service.

The HSBB retail offering will comprise triple-play services of voice, video (IPTV and video on demand), and high-speed Internet starting from speeds of 10Mbps and upwards.

The RM11.3 billion project, signed in September 2008, is a public-private partnership agreement between TM and the Malaysian government to develop next generation HSBB infrastructure and services for the nation.

TM is putting up RM8.9 billion while the government is contributing RM2.4 billion on an incurred claims basis based on project milestones reached by TM.

By end-2012 -- in accordance with the completion of the first phase of the national HSBB project roll-out as agreed with the Government -- approximately 1.3 million premises will have access to the HSBB services.

These nationwide areas -- identified as Zone 1 (key economic areas) -- include the Inner Klang Valley, Iskandar Malaysia and key industrial sites around the nation.

The initial four areas that will be covered by TM HSBB services at the time of service launch are Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Bangsar.

Some 300 users in the four areas are participating in HSBB user trials currently, and interested customers for the service are welcomed to pre-register on the TM website www.tm.com.my.

The user trials, which started in November 2009, have given TM the opportunity to test its systems, processes, fibre installation methodology, with an eye towards providing an enhanced customer service experience.

According to TM, its total expenditure related to the HSBB project as of Dec 31, 2009 reached RM1.9 billion, which covered last-mile access, Internet Protocol core deployment and capacity expansion for international links.

Total approved claims from the government up to December 2009 stood at RM990 million.

In terms of premises passed, TM has exceeded its 2009 target of 150,000 by wiring up to 152,000 premises passed as at Dec 31, 2009.

no.. this is not how to categorize HSBB or stremayx...
streamyx use ADSL technology which have limited maximum speed,
while HSBB use VDSL technology and based on fiber optic infra thus can provide speed up to 1Gbps.
5Mbps can be ADSL or VDSL because both also can provide 5Mbps speed.

it doesnt matter what speed or package dat they offer but
IMO, HSBB defined on what technology we use 

Streamyx = DSL
HSBB = 1) FTTH (PON)
            2) VDSL2 (DSL)
