Sigh!!!

I called them up and forced them to give me a free HSBB trial (because I am a private individual in a house but I have a RM688/month Streamyx Enterprise package for five years already). They said okay after I strongly persuaded them (hehe), but when they went to check my access, they said my exchange isn't activated yet!

I live in Shah Alam and there is a FTTH box on the telephone pole outside my house, so I thought it should be okay.

1)Since it optic fiber and itz gonna replace the old copper telephone line, then are there only 1 phone available in 1 house?

It doesn't replace copper. It runs in parallel. Different technologies. You can have both copper and fibre to your house, and in theory, as many phone lines as you wish.

2)Modem confirm will change, how bout my previous desktop switch? I`ve got 6 pc and i want it all connected, possible to use back cat6 cable in LAN?

You connect the modem to your router/switch/whatever.

BTW, is this the same "legendarydummy" that went to RBS?

In the short term, the only people who are going to sign up for HSBB will be the heavy downloaders. The cost cannot be justified for casual or regular users. Why pay more than RM160 when that can buy you 4MB (which is already a lot for regular users)?

I think whatever allocation they provide for the home fibre subscriptions will be way above the retention ratio in the next 3-4 years when HSBB becomes more mainstream, so expect variable performance.

I would sign up on the 24th if I knew the performance would be good (regardless of price), but something tells me it's not going to be that reliable...

The pricing will be kept a closely guarded secret until launch day.

Nobody in the support centre or any of the dealers or any of the engineers or even anyone in the advertising agency producing the promotional concepts will know that the pricing is until launch.

The only people who know will be the more senior people in the HSBB product marketing and development team (just a handful of them).

Just wait until the 24th.
