clivengu: LOL why do you have a Korean manual?

Press the Fn button until you see either CTRL, RMT or RMT2. Set F58 to CTRL, press Fn, set Ratio On. If it's not in Channel 1, hold down the Fn button for 3 seconds then go through the menu (quite obvious, this one.)

Set F42 to WL on, channel 1.

Set A700 to WL flash.

Also, refresh time for F42 and F58 at 1/1 power are both 4 seconds. The F36 and F56 are slower.

thanks albert... Cause i bought secondhand from sm1 in alphanatics.com I din realise the manual is in chinese/korean until i want to study it in detail..

Ok i hv try your steps.. but i still couldnt make my F42 to fire..

I set my A700 to Wireless Flash.

I set my F58 to Wireless Flash. Manual/ TTL (doesnt matter right?) I follow your steps. Press the Fn button. Change F58 to CTRL. ON the Ratio.. Set the ratio to 1: 1 . Channel 1.

I set my F42 to Mode WL Ch1, Level Auto, Zoom Auto.

Should be set to go.. But when I try to focus that time.... The F58 setting Change back from CTRL to RMT again by itself.. and F42 doesnt fire... I must have miss out something doh.gif

When i'm in a car, will those vibrations n shocks from irregular road surfaces cause any damages to my camera? blush.gif

while on the topic of flash, do you guys experience that if you use your flash alot, it tends to loosen?

I doubt that i use my flash more then you guys, because now my cam is starting to collect dust, but i wanted to use flash last night, and i realize that its abit shaky.. and when tilted at an angle, it doesnt detect the flash sitting on top of the cam..

do i need to replace anything?

The F42 and F58 has the same recharge time of 4 secs after firing it at full power. And to answer your question, the recharge time may differ using a F42 and F58 if:

The environment caused the F42 to fire at full power while the F58, with a higher GN, may not need to fire at full power to achieve the same exposure level.

Using the strobe function you can create an effect like multiple exposures in a single frame on a moving object. Granted that you may not have the need to do this much but the function is still there should you need it.
*
yeah, that's what i meant..that is why when he say recycle time is much faster, i tend to think that the smaller powered flash is not sufficient, else at same power(1/1 of F58 not = 1/1 F42), it should be the same la...wink.gif

i know strobe can do those things, but i dun see how i can apply it in pics la hahah most of the time also ugly ones sad.gif

not sure bout the shaky part.. but since u didnt use ur flash a lot, maybe the contact is dirty.. that's why sometimes the camera cannot detect the flash.. try to clean the contact and see if it still happen..

same problem like me...the flash will be a bit wobbly...b4 dis did encountered the flash not detecting by the body...just clean the contact point and its all done...

just hate that when we mount the flash, the flash wont sit firmly...scared like it would fall off....
