One fella got a bad unit.. BSOD when Overclocking..

The rest who received their M11x so far so good..

its possible for us to return it to dell if BSOD comes out when we OC?

OK bro here i need u guys advice.

I just receive a call frm my SA about my m11x

She told me tat my m11x was delay and is still in the work in progress becoz lack of part.... I was like WTF

my order was place & confirm on 4th February!!!!
The status stay stuck at the work-in-progress for 2 weeks and now she call and tell me no parts.

I believe some others bro here who made the order later than mine has at least reach the arrival at local kastam or may have already receive theirs.


So i am not really very happy with this case since she cant confirm when i can get mine. What should i do? Complain to the Dell Sales Manager but i dun think i will get anything else beside another dozen of useless SORRY. I think i want to request some stuff frm them.

Any suggestion and advice?

well, do get clarification on what kinda parts are on shortage. plus, escalate the case to the manager or customer care. free stuffs probably ain't that easy but still you might be able to get your unit earlier.

is not uncommon that d m11x is lacking in parts .. its selling like hot cakes sia = = well , if ur delay aint to long .. just bare with it ba ...

hope this baby can run starcraft2 and diablo3...but i think it can run flawlessly.

Now only notice the targus bag it there..haiz, maybe with that SA will not able to reduce till the price i get..else it will be sad case for me.

we're on the first batch of orders, mate. of course there would be more discounts to come but you're among the first to get your unit. no reason to be disappointed. still we've got ourselves a good deal.

Just got my Alienware M11x this morning. Been mingling through it and I will give you my review here.

Good thing.
1. The body is super solid and I really love it.
2. Keyboard maximized space, so no complain that it is smaller (still not consider cramp). But still need time to adjust myself to it.
3. Easy to setup when first staring Window 7 ultimate.
4. Audio system is good and solid.
5. The webcam is super super solid and is like a mirror. The frame rate is super high.
6. Not much of a junk installation inside.
7. Packaging is superb.

Bad thing.
1. Super reflective screen. Is like a mirror. More reflective than TrueLife.
2. The HDMI cable that is to be plugged into external monitor is coming out from the side, a bit blocking and eye sore. If out from back would be perfect.
3. No optical drive (but we already know this)
4. Talk about heat issue, yes there is a bit on the resting area of the keyboard even though not much operation. So, I turn off all alienware fx lights just to get less heat + save battery.
5. Battery cannot be unplug (so I am researching how to take care of the battery now). If it can be unplug, I will unplug it and use the wall socket.

For those who want to use External Monitor, do notice these.

1. You can only use External Monitor on the GFX mode. If you don't use GFX mode, then the external monitor option won't come out. I believe the NVIDIA card is directly connected to the HDMI. So if you disable the GFX (Nvidia) means you are disabling the HDMI port as well.

2. When you switch to External Monitor, the AUDIO will automatically switch to the External Monitor Audio. If your monitor don't have speaker from your external monitor, that mean NO SOUND anymore as you are now using the external monitor audio. So, you will have to SWITCH MANUALLY the audio to use back your REALTEK audio that is from the laptop. The above scenario happen to me when I plug my M11x into my Alienware Optx22 monitor.

Not sure if what I said is newbie or wrong, but if so, please correct me

but at least still can switch back to normal realtek audio rite?

the price for me .. well is reasonable and im kinda interested in getting it
but my question is....
if u guys wud hav a choice between m11x n m15x
which wud u choose?
bsides the obvious bigger screen and all
for me this laptop is only for gaming online nothing else lol
n judging by what dell said online
m11x can last v long wiv their battery
any1 can giv me some advice ?
if can most prob i will place an order wiv dell dis week

ur situation tells me that u need m15x since its all for gaming. u don need it to be ultraportable. since its only for gaming, i bet you will mostly be sitting at a place with plug. u cant expect much of 5 battery life from m15x.

can try ask screemo or other seniors here
m11x is for ultraportability.. if u travel around alot.
