Apparently lotsa of complains on slow start-up if coupled wth YAMJ. & the currently the beta having some problem/crash when running Samba..as what I heard.

Also From the forum, One of the mod there confirmed there is no need to reformat HDD although it is encourage to do so.

With an interface like YAMJ don't expect to be fast as before. It will take up quite a bit of resources.

I bought a AC Ryan ACR-PV73100 Playon!HD and use the firmware Firmware Ver. v7.06.r1757 and never update.

As most people are updating to the latest firmware, Firmware Ver. v7.06.r1757, is it a great improvement ot update to the latest version? Is it hard ot flash back to the older formware version? " just need a confirmation from users who have updated and what are the problems encountered after the update. If none or few, I may join the human race and advance with latest technology. Ha ha.

I do have problems loading the subtitles like sub. The player manu said it could play quite a few types of subtitles but the only type I can play is srt. Any advice on how to solve this so I can watch most foreign movies with subtitles?

Also some MWV also cannot be played. Will the latest firmware solve ths problem?

I hope that who has updated the firmware can kindly advise me on the results and so comment on the subtitle formats.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Need some advice from the experts here.

I got a PoHD recently with wifi dongle. I'm trying to be able to access my shared folders on my PC, and also view the files on the PoHD from my PC but I'm unable to do so. If I go to the 'browser --> Network --> my shortcuts' menu, and I create a shortcut to my PC's IP, it is able to login but I cannot see any files in the shared folder. I also tried to setup an NFS server on my PC with Windows SFU, but the same thing happens. I can login to the network folder but the contents are empty.

There is an option in the setup menu to turn on the BT and samba, but whenever I try to turn it on, it just wont be 'on'. I try to go to the 'extension package upgrade' menu and attempt to upgrade, and it fails.

I'm on the latest official firmware, 7.0.6 r2901.

Thanks!

just read the quote one guinea pig here:

This is my experience with this firmware.

Horrible, simply horrible

1. Now every movies (picture and audio) stutters from start to finish from my external HDD (Western Digital Elements 1000GB)
2. The device sometimes got stuck in a remote command e.g. if i am in my movie folder and press up, then it takes sometimes up to 20 seconds before the device will take a new command (checked the batteries, they are fine)

I have to downgrade because this firmware disables the whole device for me.

Hi pals, I think there are a lot of negative statement here. In actual fact, we have tested under version R3400 with YAMJ and it works fine. Pls remember that beta firmware is for testing purpose, not official release ma.
OK, to solve all this problem, we will organize a workshop for POHD on middle of June 2010. We will invite Eugene to give a talk and problem solving. For those who interested on this workshop, pls pay attention on this thread and we will annouce further for the info.

If Eugene himself is coming, better make sure he completes a very stable Firmware first, and also include DTS-MA and TrueHD bitstream or else he is gonna get bombarded left and right biggrin.gif
