Using PS3 Slim with latest firmware, have question about playing movie from media server.
Most of my movies in my media server, Synology NAS.
I realize I can only open .mp4 movie, but not .avi.
Is there any settings or tweak to be done?
Wondering any solution other than converting them.

I think most people here use US because the DLC for American games usually comes out first(obviously because it's their own country).

May I ask which website could I register the warranty? I only found the one which has 90 day free warranty extension but that one requires my PSN ID and if I use my MY one then it probably thought i have a MY PS3 which i dont. It probably wont work right? Thanks.

guys,got a problem with my Ps3 :S

Yesterday i accidentally turned it off wrongly. While it was starting,i turned the button off behind the ps3. It still worked after i turned it on a minute later but then after playing FIFA10 for about 1 hr,i clicked the PS button on controller to quit but it jammed. I thought it was nothing so i just turned it off by holding power button down and then turned it off la.

Then just now i was trying to start it,i put in a game,the ps3 just freezes at as soon as the game loads. ( a black screen about 5 secs after putting the game in).
When shutting down,it takes long and makes 3 beeps then turns off. When i turn it back on,it says something bout problem when shutting down...

So now i cant play anything,and it doesnt shut down properly..

Really need some help on this. Is my ps3 dead?
Is there any way to fix it..?

Please help

(Tried FIFA10 again,after playing,when trying to quit,i pressed the PS button and it freezes at the XMB page :S)

Been very, very long time since last I visit this section. Need to ask something, hope the sifus here can help.

I've been using my PS3 fat for a couple of years now, one of yhe best thing I ever bought. But now I'm thinking of getting the slim version just for the sake of bitstreaming, you guys probably already know just what a BD freak I am.

Question is, I bought and downloaded several games on my current PS3, and got several PSN ID (US/EU/MY) with several accounts in it. I know we can backup and restore them to the new PS3, or possibly re-download them, but I'm looking for a faster way to do that, and my lazy brain keep throwing me this idea: can I just swap the old HDD to the new PS3? As the firmware is not on the HDD but in the console's internal memory itself, I'm thinking it might just work?

What do you guys think? Ideas and suggestions are very much welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for your kind help.

PS: Anyone wanna trade their slim with my fat? It's the original 80GB with backwards compatibility with PS2 games. Perfect working condition.
