Hi,
I'm not sure if it has been discussed in the old thread,

If i'm not mistaken, astro beyond decoder has 3 output right? (coxial, HDMI, and Composite)

Let say, i want to put the beyond in the living room. using the HDMI cable connect to LCD tv. Then, i use the composite output to connect another tv in my room using RCA cable. This is possible right?

The problem is, i can't change the channel when i am in the room. Is there a device to send the remote control IR signal to the decoder in the living room? Can i use AEM xtra link 2 just to change the channel only? or there is a more simple and cheaper device, such as hidden IR repeater system.

Astro Byond outputs are HDMI, component (YCbCr) and Composite.

Yes, you can use HDMI on LCD TV in living room and composite in another room using RCA and at the same time.

An AEM xtra link 2 should work okay.

Don't forget, byond doesn't have RF output. As AEM using RF signal to transmit video/audio/remote command you need to buy AV to RF converter. CRT tv is better for your 2nd tv. The other thing is byond only have 1 remote, i don't know how to get 2nd remote.

Don't know about AEM, haven't try it. Maybe you can try on your existing decoder by plugging out AEM connector from RF out at astro decoder, if you still can control, it should work. Also you might want to try component (add 2 more cable) instead of composite (if your 2nd tv have component in) as it provide better PQ.

yeah.. component connection from my B.Yond to my LCD still out.. comfirmed is not hardware problem as component b.yond to CRT OK and component connection from DVD player to LCD also ok..

some sort of programing problem between b.yond decoder and my LCD making the picture distort especially in the top half.

If Astro wants to carry more HD channels, MEASAT had to launch at least 2 satellites, MEASAT-5 and MEASAT-6...

Quick question: Does covering the LNB with standard hypermarket plastic bag/plastic candy box can minimize rain fade/increase signal? Aesthetically, the Astro Dish with LNB covered with plastic is so bad....

I don't think so. The issue is the cloud. The cloud is the ones that affect the signal. Not the rain.

that's priceless!

NO, if anything it will weaken the signal reflected off the dish to the LNB.

It's a line of sigth issue not a dish/LNB getting wet issue

um, if you read again, there is NO AXN HD Asia stream. So far only European stream and perhaps only available on satellites covering Europe (or only unique to Portugal by cable and no satellite feed at all). Astro cannot carry because there are no satellite coverage of the stream in Asia. Thus no way of getting it in Asia. If Astro want to carry they have to practically create new channel and run it from their facility (i.e. just license the name, but content all ownself provide. Like what they're apparently going to do with ESPN HD) unless they wait for the Singapore AXN facility to launch the channel in Asia. And given how Astro doesn't even have the complete AXN channel line-up (dun even have AXN Beyond permanently compared to Starhub), I just don't see it happening.
