Hi,
I'm not sure if it has been discussed in the old thread, If i'm not mistaken, astro beyond decoder has 3 output right? (coxial, HDMI, and Composite) Let say, i want to put the beyond in the living room. using the HDMI cable connect to LCD tv. Then, i use the composite output to connect another tv in my room using RCA cable. This is possible right? The problem is, i can't change the channel when i am in the room. Is there a device to send the remote control IR signal to the decoder in the living room? Can i use AEM xtra link 2 just to change the channel only? or there is a more simple and cheaper device, such as hidden IR repeater system. |

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jan 26 2010, 05:28 PM) Astro Byond outputs are HDMI, component (YCbCr) and Composite. Thanks man. Already subcribe to byond. Just waiting for installationYes, you can use HDMI on LCD TV in living room and composite in another room using RCA and at the same time. An AEM xtra link 2 should work okay. |

QUOTE(eMKs @ Jan 26 2010, 05:44 PM) Don't forget, byond doesn't have RF output. As AEM using RF signal to transmit video/audio/remote command you need to buy AV to RF converter. CRT tv is better for your 2nd tv. The other thing is byond only have 1 remote, i don't know how to get 2nd remote. I want to connect the 2nd tv using RCA cable. AEM use only for changing the channel, its no connected to the tv. AEM should work fine right?Remote control is not a big problem. I only watch tv in my room at night. QUOTE(eMKs @ Jan 26 2010, 06:11 PM) Don't know about AEM, haven't try it. Maybe you can try on your existing decoder by plugging out AEM connector from RF out at astro decoder, if you still can control, it should work. Also you might want to try component (add 2 more cable) instead of composite (if your 2nd tv have component in) as it provide better PQ. The only thing is, i don't use AEM right now. I only will use it when astro byond is installed at my house. |

QUOTE(azrin_kiko @ Jan 26 2010, 11:09 PM) Quick question: Does covering the LNB with standard hypermarket plastic bag/plastic candy box can minimize rain fade/increase signal? Aesthetically, the Astro Dish with LNB covered with plastic is so bad.... I don't think so. The issue is the cloud. The cloud is the ones that affect the signal. Not the rain. |

Astro should broadcast all the other SD channels in 16:9 format for b.yond subscriber. We can see that most of the TV programme in astro is already in 16:9 format. Such as discovery channel, animal planet but the subtitle and the channel logo is still in the black bars zone. When we zoom the picture using the LCD tv. We are unable to see the subtitle and the channel logo.

I think this gogo2 guy works for astro. maybe he is the idiot who came up with these zoom ideas. That is why he try so hard to defend it with his 'pilar boxes' and stuff.
Gogo2..don't u get it?? the problem is not about the pilar boxes. It is about the strecth function that has been replace with the zoom function. Can u see it clearly now? Just restore it to as it before. Stretch and pillar box. Or on the other hand, just provide the three functions, zoom, pillar box and stretch. Everyone happy |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Mar 15 2010, 10:35 PM) good evening bro. stretched version of SD is not full screen bro. Stretched is stretched. Actually pillar blah...blah2..pillar box..blah2..blah2..1:1 aspect ratio...blah2..same things all over again..box is also full screen. Just that it did not fill the screen. i say all human like pillar box because when you look at you wife, you want it to look fat? of course not. You want it to look exactly how she is. No one want to watch movie with stretched people. This is based on my assumption that people want to see their wife look correctly. Everyone has their own preferences la bro.. it is not up to you..i think about 90% forumers in here just want the zoom function replace back with the stretch function..we don't care about fat..1:1 aspect ratio..blah2..pillar box..just open new thread la bro.. QUOTE(sn4 @ Mar 15 2010, 10:37 PM) To: SKMM ( aduanskmm@cmc.gov.my) Good report format bro..nicely written..will copy and e-mail to SKMM..I lodge a report to SKMM before, about my celcom broadband service. I must say.. i was very happy with their action..Even the celcom exec written me a personal letter to apologize about my problem..cc: Astro (wecare@astro.com.my) Dear SKMM, ... See more we are called upon to lodge a complaint with you as customers that has subscribed to the Astro Beyond service, we are currently encountering problems where the broadcast of non High Definition or Standard Definition SD are of poor quality and are zoomed in . In order to rectify the zooming we as the customer have to choose the picture format of 4:3 compared to HD on 16:9. The full report on this problem is as reported by the internet newsportal Malaysian Insider today at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.p...yond-customers- After effort to get Astro to respond or explain on the their facebook page, goes unheeded , i have chosen to lodge this complaint with you. This is due to the fact that Astro has failed to communicate nor they have informed the customers on their intention to upgrade the software or quality of broadcast to the customers. In doing so, we the customers, paying an extra RM20 for the HD services are now getting a raw deal on the SD channels. Hope that in the future Astro would be more considerate and would treat their customer with more respect and not simply implement changes without any notifications. |

QUOTE(whatsupbro @ Mar 24 2010, 04:12 AM) I read in this thread I think... saying that all Astro Channel will be in HD by the end of 2010... WOW!! Hehe..i hardly watch astro channel..but my mother often watch it. She doesnt care it is HD or what. I think astro should upscale all of the ch. and transmit it in 16:9 format. That would be better i think. |
