i'm using the composite cable and not RGB. Another forumer here said he's using the same AEM AV-RF converter but gets  clear connection. Could it be something to do with astro settings?
*

Composite & Component output is fixed at 576i, there's no setting you can change. Try connect from byond composite output direct to your tv. If ok, try connect AEM to other source as well

Added on February 27, 2010, 6:08 pmYeah, Carling Cup Final will available in ASSP HD rclxms.gif

since when astro byond component output can output 1080p..??
if i'm not mistaken, maximum output for component is only 576i... notworthy.gif
HDMI only can output to maximum 1080i

and 480i is for country with NTSC TV system like USA/Canada..
We in Malaysia who used PAL tv system, max is 576i

im talking about the cable. not astro byond...

if ur talking about byond then component support both 720p and 1080i astro byond output. cuz component max is 1080p while composite connection max is 480i.

I just trying to help him & this is byond topic, i mean specifically about byond only. Of course, component can support video format up to 1080p.
Ur misguided about byond. Just connect composite & component output from byond to your TV, you won't get any signal other than 576i. You wonder why? Just find it by yourself.

Agreed. It's already been said and confirmed by Astro- due to copy protection, component is locked to downscaled 576i. Only HDMI will output 1080i on the byond. Sure, you can also apply copy protection to Analog component using Macrovision, but most likely they're not going to do so due to extra cost.

Wasted money getting a stupid VGA box just because anticipating Astro to offer 1080i over component, since the prototype they presented last year supposedly can do that mad.gif

r u saying byond installation is free? im only paying rm20 monthly for that?

1 more thing.. is the byond decoder is different with the other 1? what i meant was, my old decoder i wish to keep in my old house.. i planning to get byond for my new house.. my question is, is the beyond decoder it self complete with the old pakage + 5 HD channel? meaning RM84.90 + RM20? hmm.gif

no you need a new package for your new home - the byond decoder itself doesn't come with subscriptions. And no subscriptions = no channels. in fact u want hd u hav to subscribe to package with hd channels
