normally how long do you guys need to wait for the installer to come once it is confirmed by the telemarketer?

Added on February 25, 2010, 10:15 pmActually, they're only small different for SD channels when viewed with Byond decoder...
If u use HDMI, and set the output to 720p or 1080i, the SD channel will become only a bit ok and the colour tone more softer than viewed on normal decoder..
but if u use component output, the PQ was same.., but it become more sharper and a bit pixelite...

but, I think, if U just wanna upgrade to byond for more 'clearer' SD channels, you just waste your hard earned money...

OMG, I thought many reviews say that SD channels have improved on the b.yond? Currently only a few channels in HD, SD is still dominant.... if that the case I think I'll need to think twice about it....

Yes.., For us as user, we can't do anything to improve the PQ for SD Channels... because they, Astro who are responsible for transmitted it.. if the sources are bad, and we as user will get the "bad" PQ... What Astro can do now to improve the PQ for SD channels is maybe first changing their system for all DVD-S2 and use MPEG4 encoding like HD channels, and use 576p instead of 576i that astro currently used now... use progressive scan that is surely are far more better than interlaced scan picture...

But if they do like that, for surely, only those who are using astro byond can receive it, and all astro current normal SD dcoder, will become absolute...

If my B.yond signal lower than 220, does HD channel PQ decreased? Coz i think that my problem for now...

if i'm not mistaken, signal decreasing is not the big problem for digital signal. Once u get just enough signal, the crystal clear pictures will be show on tv. It's not like analog signal. Our sifu, such as Astinst pls clarifies this. Hehe.

No such thing...it is either u see the pq or u cannot see at all...

Just now at KLCC got the B.Yond Showcase, looks intresting.. They show the foorball in HD on a big screen. Got comparison side by side HD and normal Astro.

Not entire true mate, if the sources are available in interlaced format(which is pretty much it around the whole world), converting to progressive is silly. You are wasting bandwidth and would eventually get lower picture quality lol. Why would a broadcaster waste bandwidth converting 1 channel to progressive when they can broadcast 2 channels in interlaced format ? lol
