This thread is opened for discussion on:

1. Football replica or player issue jerseys/shorts/socks
2. Football training jerseys/shorts/socks
3. Namesets (NNs) and patches

The discussions here are generic but related to the items above, such as where to find a certain jersey or nameset, asking questions on patches etc...

Anyone can share their latest jerseys they bought since this is a thread about jerseys.

RULES AND REGULATIONS (R&R)

Make sure that none of the things below are mentioned:

1. Talking/discussing about fake jerseys/patches/gear
2. Flaming and causing stir/arguing with another LYN member
3. Any racial abuse or football clubs sentiment
4. Anything that is against the general rules of this forum.

If anyone breaks the rule, they will be reported to the moderators and admins.

As discussed with the previous thread starter, I decided to volunteer and open the thread again (thanks MobyDick).

For newbies, any questions please refer to page 1 first. I will post some guides in the first page for references because sometimes the same question is asked over and over again..

EXTRA ATTENTION TO MEMBERS OF LYN FORUM AND REGULARS TO THIS THREAD!

Most of the regulars know who are the previous troublemakers who like to cause stir in this thread. They will either:

1. Insult people's collection
2. Brag about themselves
3. Insult other people's knowledge on jerseys
4. Flame other people
5. All the above.

IF YOU FIND THEM POSTING IN THIS THREAD ... please report to the moderators and IGNORE THEM ... because their postings are worthless and most of them are more into seeking attention only..

If you post in the forum, then you agree with the rules stated above.

Thank you!

WHERE TO BUY NAME/NUMBER SET (NNs) AND PATCHES

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE LETTERS/NUMBERS & PATCHES FOR THE TOP 4 EPL TEAMS

user posted image

Letters/Numbers are in black or white colours. Navy & Red NNs depend on stock availability and are ordered and sold as sets (not individually like black and white).
Locally each EPL letter costs RM6 per letter and RM35 per number. So if you want to buy ROONEY 10, it will cost:

(6 letters X RM6) + (2 numbers X RM35) = RM36 + RM70 = RM106

A pair of EPL patches (normal or champions patches) costs RM49 per pair (2 pieces for both sleeves).
You can purchase the EPL NNs and Patches (normal and champions) at:

1. Local Stores: Al-Ikhsan, Real One and Q-Line
2. Online:

2. If you buy from online (ebay or overseas seller), ask in the forum or pm myself if you need second opinion to see if it's authentic or not. I will not be held responsible if the item is found to be fake later.

I will update this page from time to time, if you guys have any useful info.. please PM me.. Thanks!

RECOMMENDED FOREIGN ONLINE SPORTS SHOPS FOR PURCHASING AUTHENTIC JERSEYS/NNs/BADGES

Here is the list of names/address/contact information of local sports shops that have a previous and currently proven record of selling authentic items (jerseys, namesets and badges). As you all know, one of the rules and principles of all JCs (Jersey Collectors) are to say no to fake jerseys, NNs and badges.

We had a case with one of our previously recommended and endorsed shop somewhere in KL who we previously trusted and recommended to our friends and other fellow JCs. But in early 2008, 2 of their employees broke our trust and started to sell fake namesets and badges. Our mistake was not to spread this news because we though it was a one off case and we had good faith on that shop. But sadly it became worst because many people fell victims to these 2 unethical sellers who preyed on naive and innocent buyers who wanted to buy original items and paid the items with prices that matches authentic items. Is it unethical but at the end they got away with it because we didn't have any proof against them. It is funny to see how they pretend they didn't know about it and were plain cowards for not admitting it or still claiming that it's authentic. And at the end, the tauke himself said to one of our mates in the JC group to trust him more than us. That really upset us because we were wasting time giving them chance to sort out things, trusting and endorsing them, and at the end.. after trying to gain back our trust and believe on them.. we were scolded back as if we were the one starting the fuss. Takkan pokok bergoyang kalau tiada angin bertiup.. right?

So what we can do now is.. for the sake and safety of other JCs, newbies and friends out there is to list down the local and foreign sports shops that are guaranteed to sell authentic items and are personally endorsed by us. We might not have 10 years experience of selling items (quoted by someone who claims that players actually wear jersey with PU typed NNs during matches because they are light.. WTF..?) but we know our stuff. And I have black and white proof to back that up.

Anyway if you want to visit the recommended shops that we endorse, here they are:

Bro, the trick is to apply it the other way round.

Terbalikkan your jersey and arrange your badge under the shirt. Once you managed to arrange it then iron it. It's risky but the badge is thick, that's why you need to do it that way.

Sorry to say this... Jersey looks fake to me..

The club crest should be bigger than the V chevron:

The AIG logo looks fat. And the jersey has the very rare RESPECT patch.. which even the authentic replica jerseys don't have yet hehe..

I think the italy shirt will look nicer in person, but the shorts is a total failure, it looks gaudy and cant imagine how will the player wear that.

That's the whole point of this thread, to help ppl differentiate between the genuine replicas from the fakes. But sad to say that a lot of ppl are still falling prey to the pirates due to lack or insufficient knowledge.

Information shared should never ever be abused in any way whatsoever. To do it for own personal gains just smacks of inethical behaviour, no matter the justification.

Since I've bought the Italy home 2008 jersey that is made by puma using USP technology... there is a need to be careful when ironing it...

user posted image

user posted image

This Italy jersey uses the USP technology:

user posted image

Some information on puma's USP technology:

user posted image

These jerseys have a unique mesh material on some areas of the jersey (mainly on the front). As you can see below, the front material (on the outside) looks like a net:

user posted image
Outer layer of the USP technology jersey..

In reality, there are 2 separate layers. One is the outer layer (that looks like a net) as shown above, another layer is the inner layer as shown below:

user posted image
The 2 different layers (inner and outer) of the puma USP technology jerseys..

Now.. as jerseyman advised previously.. washing your jersey in my opinion and then ironing it helps to prolong it's lifespan if you tend to wear it.. Of course, the best method to keep your jersey forever is by keeping it untouched.. Then keeping it in plastic covers is another story. But if you want to iron your puma USP tech jerseys after you've washed and spin dried them.. be careful..

Do not:

user posted image
Do not iron directly on top of the club crest/puma logo without any paper cover covering between the inner layer and outer layer..

user posted image
Do not iron beneath the club crest/puma logo without any paper cover covering between the inner layer and outer layer..

Why?

Although it is recommended to iron press beneath your jersey's club crest, sponsors and nameset (to enhance the glue bonding) for the puma USP tech jerseys.. there are 2 separate layers.. By doing so (with no cover between the inner and outer layer) will cause the club crest/puma logo that is applied on the outer layer to bond and stick with the inner layer.. This causes the jersey to not function using it's USP technology as optimum as possible (bad ventilation) and it doesn't feel nice... right?

For all.. I mean all puma jerseys that uses this USP technology.. notice on the front layer (bottom half), there is a small gap hole located as shown below:

user posted image
Where the gap hole is located

user posted image
Close up view of the gap hole

At first I though that my jersey has a torn stitching on the bottom half (front layer).. but it was actually intended to be there.. Why? So that you can insert into the gap hole (in between the 2 layers) a paper cover that you can use to cover beneath the club crest/puma logo. This gap hole can also be used to insert a cover that covers when you want to print the front number in front of the jersey (for national team jerseys)...

To be continued..

Continued..

Here's how to do it..

First, look for a rough paper that you can use as a cover. I've opted for the oil paper that normally comes together in plastic bags of jerseys. Then I cut it to make it a small rectangular shape as shown below:

user posted image
Cut a oil paper into a small rectangular shape

Then I insert the paper into the gap hole:

user posted image

user posted image
You can insert you hands and arms into the hole... it fits..

Then.. place the paper beneath where the club crest or puma logo sits:

user posted image

You can then cover the club crest/puma logo with plain white cloth before you iron on top of it. This is to avoid iron marks or ruining the crest/logo:

user posted image

You can sprinkle some water before you iron. Then iron press it gently.. the idea is just to enhance the glue bonding and to make the crest's surface ironed and smooth:

user posted image

After you've done that.. notice that the crest/puma logo will not stick on the paper cover. If it does, it might be minimal and can be peeled off easily:

user posted image
There are gaps and the crest is not bonded accidentally with the inner layer

Next step is to iron the puma logos near the shoulders.. To do this, as usual, slide the paper cover up to the area where the puma logo near the shoulder sits:

user posted image

Then.. As what was done earlier.. Cover the area with plain cloth and then iron press it.. This will help bond the glue of the puma logo and crests.. Have fun!

The gap is actually for application of front number and patch, so that the netting would not stick onto the shirt when application.

Yes taiko.. I remember you telling me this way back in 2008.. You went to ali and applied the NNs there, for your brother I think. I remember you telling me about it (the need to insert extra paper cover for front number printing)..

need some advise here.

i purchased 4 jerseys from kitbag with the total value of £64.35 plus £6.95 shipping fee. it was 0.8kg as stated in the tracking website.

UPS called up to inform that i need to pay the tax of RM 209.80

i need advise here. my total purchase is below RM 500 and below 1kg. in fact is abt RM 400 and the tax is ridiculously high. as i read from the previous thread:

"And here comes the important part. Any goods with a declared invoice value of RM500 or lesser is not dutiable, irregardless of how high the actual tax, ie. 40% or 50% tax. So its safe to say that if your purchase value is below RM500, you won't need to pay any form of tax."

is there any way for me to be exempted from the tax? can i refuse to accept the item. if yes, what will happen?

thanks in advance.

How come you paid £6.95 for UPS? Ask UPS to email you the tax form from the customs and check the freight value, that's the one that is expensive and varies.

I don't think there's a way to exempt tax. Don't know what will happen if you refuse to accept.

RM500 is inclusive of all the insurances, etc. That's why even if when you convert your nett purchase (from Kitbag) to RM lower than RM500, you still may get taxed once the final amounts are added in, and that amount exceeds RM500.

You may have been upgraded from Royal Mail to UPS due to the value of your purchases.

You can refuse to accept, of which the whole package will be sent back to Kitbag. However, I am not sure what will the amount charged to your CC, as they may include postage, handling fee, etc.

actually the value of your total shipment seems quite low.
i believe kitbag auto-upgraded your shipment thats why u got the UPS option.

anyway back to the topic, the amount of your shipment and the weight of your shipment seems pretty low.
so i think the best option would be for you to go to the UPS office and check out the customs form for yourself.
make sure you read the details on being taxed.

rm209 is not alot. they do charge rm50 for their handling fee for paying the customs tax for you first.
i believe another guy had a problem similiar to this and he went to sort it out at the office, and got off without paying.
cant remember exactly what happend.
so just check the form, dont worry cos they have everything in black and white.

the invoice of what?

yes there is a customs form that will show you the amount being taxed.
the breakdown of your shipment value + insurance value + shipping value.
then u can see what made the total be over rm500.

ok got hold to the tax form now.

FOB : RM 351.69
Freight : RM 222.30
Insurance: RM 3.52

CIF = RM 577.51

just curious why is the freight charges so high. is there anything wrong with it? being taxed under 6205.09.000. is that correct? remember seeing in previous thread that the code is 6109.90.000. will that make any differences?

advices appreciated notworthy.gif

Think u can argue with them on the Freight as u only pay GBP 6.95... Declaration is based on the proforma invoice issued by Kitbag... unless Kitbag stated...

from the invoice of kitbag, no freight or insurance was stated. the only amount stated in the invoice is Invoice Line Total : 64.35 and Total Invoice Amount : 64.35 GBP.

just for clarification, freight charges on the tax form should match the amount of shipping fee i paid for? yes, i paid 6.95 GBP.

@rosicky_return, i see that u place order from kitbag every 2 weeks. have u encountered any tax issue before this? thanks.

I hope this can help you justify the reason for the given calculated freight. If you go to UPS & calculate the shipping cost from Malaysia to Middleton (kitbag) here is what you get

Attached Image

In short, the freight was calculated based on the normal UPS charge.

about the issue of the shipping charges, this one u should try to talk to kitbag.
UPS just handles kitbags shipments.
so u tell kitbag that you wanted the normal shipping and now u have to pay for tax because they used UPS for your shipment.

i dont think what catergory matters. cos jerseys will kena 30%.
thus your CIF (which means consignment + insurance + freight) is rm577.51.
the 30% is rm173 + the service charge of rm50 = rm223.
which is right isnt it?

*
one thing to note is that UPS charges kitbag varying from different factors such as weight, freight value and maybe time. not sure exactly.
but when you pay kitbag, it's already a discounted shipping price.
but UPS may charge kitbag differently. so that is the amount stated on their airway bill (yours being rm222.30)
your case is really unique being so low in value and weight but so high in shipping charges.

so i think it's wrong to assume that the freight charges will be the same as on the invoice issued by kitbag.
cos they are just giving us value for money.
i do alot of kitbag shipments and havent kena before.

as shown by odieseven, you can see that the shipment was a time-value shipment.
being guaranteed to arrive by a certain time, thus being more expensive.
most likely yours was similiar.
best thing you can do is complain to kitbag and tell them that you didnt wanna use UPS in the first place.
and now that they did it for you, you kena taxed.

hhmm, all this while i always think freight value is the amount u pay for shipping, but i forgot the fact that the shipping cost provided by kitbag is already a "subsidized" price and the actual price for that type of shipping is far more expensive.

If that's the case, would it be true to say those who use UPS for shipping should stay clear of the RM300 value for shirt alone because as shown by the 2 example above, the freight value will be around RM200?

RM1k? shocking.gif

Yea, I also kena the last time, sudah insaf.

Added on January 27, 2010, 6:56 pmBTW myalison, the freight value in the tax form varies, depending on how many shirts or rather weight of the items you've bought. It is non advisable to buy more than 3 shirts from kitbag or anywhere because it looks bulky in a single package and has the tendency to exceed the 1kg limit. I've bought 2 shirts before from kitbag and was taxed because the freight value was RM112 when I only paid 11.85 pounds. You bought 4 and it's almost double mine. I wonder whether the freight value is proportional with the quantity of shirt bought?

Ohz... sorry to hear that tax issues... actually I work in Singapore.. all the parcels were shipped to my office address...
But everytime when i place order, i had make sure that the my order had exceed GBP 65 and below GBP 75... so that i can pay the freight at GBP 6.95 then they will auto upgrade my order with to ship with UPS with tracking code... (coz Singapore tax limit is higher)..

Only for those who ordered from Malaysia... i go JB Post office to send out via post laju..

Sorry for the wrong advice.. tot can argue with the custom officer... thousand of sorry..... sweat.gif sweat.gif

That is weird, my past two transactions from Kitbag have details below, 1 of them i paid £11.85 for UPS, another one i paid £6.95 for Airmail but they auto upgraded to UPS for me

1. Package has 4 items, weighted 1kg
Invoice amount = £45.92 that is FOB = 254.13
Postage Cost = £11.85 that is INS = 2.54, FRT = 58

Total CIF = 314.68 (exchange rate = 5.5342)

2. Package has 3 items, weighted 0.7kg
Invoice amount = £71.99 that is FOB = 398.41
Postage Cost = £6.95 (upgrade to UPS) that is INS = 3.98, FRT = 58

Total CIF = 460.39 (exchange rate = 5.5342)

Both order not being caught, TBH, i don't know how they calculate the freight cost though

Ah.. I checked my Italy, Cameroon and Austria (puma USP jerseys)..

They all can be inserted with the paper cover up to the puma logos near the shoulders..

user posted image
Yes.. the puma logos near the shoulders are also one same layer with the front layer.

What was I thinking yesterday.... haih.. My eyes deceived me. Maybe I'm too tired.

Proof that jerseyman is human after all...

So I will make some amendments to my previous guide.. Apologies for the mistake... Hehehe...

Ohz... sorry to hear that tax issues... actually I work in Singapore.. all the parcels were shipped to my office address...

*
yeah i also noticed that the last few shipments of mine, the freight value is quite low like yours - around rm60.
i also use UPS express shipping option.
so duno why he kena so painful.

I'm still waiting for a replacement starball from kitbag that was sent last week using normal airmail. The first one arrived really fast but this second one is taking a very long time, I wonder whether it'll arrive safely or not.

Of course it will melt.. if you apply iron on top of it directly.

Which is why you have to cover it with plain cloth before you iron on top of it.

for most of the HK sites, they are notorious for not updating the website regularly, both in terms of availability and price. So please email them for both infor first prior to making any orders. Items like the starball may sky rocket in price in matter of weeks.

Prices wont be cheap now since its rare, and no licensed repro allowed by UEFA so far.

Wow, I seems to be quite lucky here. I had a shipment of 65 pounds of FOB and 12 pounds shipment using UPS by kitbag (United Direct). Total purchase was 77 pounds and after converting (I assume that the customs uses RM 6 = 1 pound exchange rate), the total shipment would be RM 462 only. I allowed some leeway for insurance and make sure it is below RM 500. I didnt know that they calculate the fright charges based on what the actual price and not the price we paid for. Luckily, I didnt got taxed for this shipment.

I have another shipment coming in by UPS also I ordered few days ago worth around 62 pounds including shipping. Now this worry me. I hope I wont get taxed.

As for Royal Mail, I had once ordered on Thurs night our time, they ship out Friday evening their time and I received it on Wednesday morning here. That is the quickest. I still have 2 Royal Mail package that is still pending and not yet reach one shipped on 18/1/10 and another on 27/1/10. Hope ntg happen to those parcels.

thanx for the offer, but carrick is not my choice. smile.gif
will try searching around, if dont have, then will get the blue premier league nameset one...

thanx.

oh, i just want to ask the big brothers here, do you guys know what the real cost of a replica jersey? because, i found a shop thats letting go last season jersey for rm1++ (got itali like schemeichle show a few page back, got some liverpool, barca 3rd kit, palmeiras and etc.), and they say they still make profit. so i wonder how much did we pay for the jersey, and how much did we pay for the sponsorship and brand name...

Maybe the jersey it self cost only rm70, but the brand, the sponsorship, the tax made it to be rm259 at retail.

and new season jersey they selll it at rm220. worldcup adidas team like germany, france, spain already sold at rm220....

hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

well there are many factors that come into play when they put pricing for the jersey.
cost of rental for the shop, workers, overheads, shipping, printing, marketing, royalties ......
the list can go on and on. that's why the jerseys are overpriced.

i'd think that the real cost of producing a jersey would be around maybe rm50?
quality control is also there. rejected ones need to be paid for right?
so that is also factored into the cost being charged to the customer.

anyways where did u find the good shop?
they seem to have a good range of jerseys.
u should share share smile.gif

@makakeke - happy birthday too!

@madfag - yes better not remove PU. better to get another kit and apply Lextra this time round.

@beckzaidan - your question is like asking why t-shirts in AX, FCUK, CK are selling at RM1++/RM2++! of course there will be diff tiered cost structures on the kit, that's how most ppl make profits anyway, mark-ups and margins. as for your question on why retailers selling cheaply, they may have gotten cheap stocks from other retailers, who decided to offload old off-season stocks for a cheaper price to liquidate them (convert to cash).

Re : the recent discussion on internet orders and custom tax

Am about to place another order on Kitbag and am contemplating on how I should go about doing it. My priority purchase is this top which is 39.99 and including RM shipping, total purchase will be 46.95 - just under M$300. Am a bit tempted to sneak in a pair of socks at 7.99. Would that be pushing it, i.e., increase the chances of the package being scrutinised by the Custom ??

So far, I've been lucky with overseas order, even those that borderline the M$500 mark. But from what I read here, those chappies appear to be overzealous these days. Those guys must have got instructions from Chief to have replenish the country's kitty .....

I don't think you're pushing it. Your total value is very safe.

TOFFS is selling authentic replica jersey(under licensed), most of the jerseys are from yesteryears, before football clubs patented their stuffs.

They wore it in the 99/00 season. You can see that the NN is different from the 1 star.

next time do check gettyimages.com and compare with what's the players use if you want to be 100% accurate. But really, its all depends on your liking, as long as you like it, everything else does not matter.

If only it's that easy to find laugh.gif

the best bet would be eBay, i recommend sellers such as county_murchman who have PI kits for Liverpool and Aston Villa to name a few.

as pointed by Pyroboy, Player Issue jerseys are not as common to find. Best bet is to try your luck on Ebay, and learn how to distinguish the fakes too cos if not sure fall prey.

alpha_mid i think is asking bout altering of jerseys. I think can bring to any of those normal taylors can alteration ...rm10-15 i think)

bringing your own nns and jersey, they wil likely ask for rm10 (im tlaking bout ALI - as for Real1, has alwasy been rm10 since they started charging). But try ask Ahmad to charge rm5 lo, thats what he normally charges last time.

I'm no taiko but IMO can put, but better wait till the team wears it in a match. Correct me if I'm wrong, but united hasn't wear the 3rd kit in any competitions this season.

If you want to emulate the Milan game which is yes, they will use white, you will have to get 08-10 starball as well as UCL style nameset. there's no red&black team in BPL, United out of FA Cup so no match against lower teams with that combo as well, and Carling Cup use their own patch....so i highly doubt United will use the white kit in BPL, unless they wanna advertise it to increase sales.

From the remaining fixtures, i only see MU playing away against 2 red teams, which are AV on 10 Feb and Sunderland on 1st May. Considering Sunderland shirt's red and white, MU will have to use black, so that leaves us with that 10 Feb game. Other games are home games or away games against blue, white colours etc.

So yeah, highly doubt any other game with white shirts besides the AV one, but even that game can use black kit.

ic, so u have the nameset on already. No harm putting the 0809 Champions one since its the correct "format", but if you are particular about ur shirt looks like the player wear one, better wait or use the 0708 Champions patch.

Authentic Candy shirts can get, just be sure you are aware if you are getting the original release (ie from 1989) or the official repro by Adidas (the Originals series where the "Liverpool Originals" tag will be on the nexk label).

Thos on Mudah that Ive seen are a mixture of both. The grey kit is either ori release or fake. Ori normally veryvery small sizes. youth or s.

Red ones are likely to be from the Originals line.

And the blue one you see on some mudah site, thats plain fake tongue.gif

Why not? The new Lextra NNs are from seasons 0708 onwards, and since 0608 was worn for 2 seasons (0607 and 0708), you can put the current NNs for this shirt.

Select your players from the squad roster of 0708 though, and not 0607. smile.gif

Yup, names suggested would be (quote Wiki);

Di Santo 27
Makelele 4
Pizarro 14
Sidwell 9
Shevchenko 7
Ferreira 20 (before Deco came along)
Ben-Haim 22
Wright-Phillips 24

These are the few to continue your trend on the lesser big names wink.gif

he does have adult sizes, without a doubt, the embroidery is DIY.
He also states that the shirt do not carry a CL winners patch.
But the shirt is authentic though. Good luck. =)

But the shirt is authentic though. Good luck. =)

thanks for the info.

And the blue one you see on some mudah site, thats plain fake tongue.gif

just a quick update here for those who read/tried to help out. notworthy.gif thanks for the advices.

didn't manage to run away from the tax, however kitbag did refund £40 to me. happy ending after all. learnt a pain lesson as well.

by the way, will it look weird if i apply the lextra NN on kids XL size jersey? will the NN be too big for the jersey?

for that price what do you expect?

his ratings either comes from dumbasses who doesnt even bother to check or those who purposely buy fake patches.

actually i bought it from a retail shop in ireland. i dont know how much does it cost back in msia, probably more expensive here since theres 21% VAT.
i've been wanting this for so long but the price of barca jersey never go down. So no point to wait anymore. EPL team, especially previous season jersey will be discounted after certain times.

Guys, i have a few question regarding my collection.

1) A friend gave me this used UMBRO ENGLAND HOME 03/05 Reversible jersey. He bought it at some reject shop in UK (i don't know what shop). This jersey don't have hologram at the bottom in either side.

The tag is already been cut off becoz this jersey is reversible. This jersey looks & feel authentic but with my limited knowledge. how bout u guys? do u think it's authentic?

2) Both jersey's inner printing is peeling off after wash. how to prevent this from happening?

1. i have the same england jersey which i bought from ebay.
it looks abit worn but its not too bad.
the side with the three lions logo has a hologram at the bottom left of the shirt. maybe yours has come off or something.
but looks legit to me. it has the same umbro tags at the bottom.

2. i dont think there is any way of preventing that.
better that one peel off than the badges right tongue.gif

Hehehe..

After seeing your england jersey... it brings me back memories of the old issue that was discussed in LYN way back in 2007. Almost 3 years ago!

Back then.. there were some 'so called' reject jerseys lurking around at FOS Stores around a lot of malls. What they sold were:

1. Inter Milan Home (03-04)
2. Arsenal Home (02-04)
3. Man United Home (02-04)
4. England Home Reversible (03-04)
5. Chelsea Home Reversible (03-05)
6. AC Milan Home (03-04)
7. Real Madrid Home (03-04)

The jerseys were fake because they all had the same serial number (based on manufacturers). For nike kits (Man Utd, Inter, Arsenal) all had same serial number, for adidas kits (AC Milan, Real Madrid) also same serial number and for umbro kits (England, Chelsea) too.

Then there was an issue when this seller called vincentmomo was caught red handed by my investigation that the jerseys he was selling were the same as what was sold at FOS store. To read the story again, here is the link: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=13479735

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

So the England jersey you had indeed has the SAME serial number that I mentioned back in 2007 (which is 01179158). I couldn't see them back then but yet, I was right.

These fakes were a once in a lifetime batch made from China. They had almost the same characteristics, multiple sizes (M-XXL) but they had some poor quality embroidery etc etc. So the one you had was from the FOS store. Not from some reject store in UK...

That answers question 1.

For question 2. Did you wash your jerseys using washing machine? This is because you washed your jersey using washing machine right? I've always advice you guys never to use washing machine to wash jerseys.. You can use the washing machine to spin dry your jersey but do it for 1 minute only.

How to avoid it, is to wash your jerseys using hands in the future. Then spin dry using your washing machine. Then iron it to make look nice, smooth and neat.

If you didn't wash it using washing machine.. then tell me how did it happened?.. Just wondering mate.

wow! nice explanation there mate. yeah, the serial is same. definitely a fake.
1 thing that wonder me, this is my 1st encounter with fake that comfortable to wear (i already wear this jersey last week) & the quality is superb for a fake.
how can fake nowadays can't even match up with this fake 5 years ago? if they done it before why they can't do it again?
luckily i got it for free. hehe...

for the 2nd question, i wash all my jersey by hand & then spin dry using washing machine like u said but i lazy 2 iron the jerseys. i noticed that i don't have this peeling problem yet with nike & reebok jerseys. it's always happen for puma & adidas only.

anyway thanks for sharing ur knowledge mate!

They were comfy because they were made in china and the same umbro kits were actually made in china.

After washing and spin drying, you have to iron them.. Especially the areas where there is the PU sponsors and sizing info near the collars. But DON'T IRON ON TOP OF THE PU SPONSORS! Terbalikkan your jersey first and iron press them.. it helps to bond the glue and make it smooth and nicer.

then you got to be patient and try ebay bro. Even the official store is sold out of home shirts, let alone LS. So you gotta dig around in ebay etc more often. This hobby tests patience:)

LS for older seasons still have on subside i think, and on ebay too. good luck!

UCL starball long ago finished in KL, as UEFA has made it a controlled item, and can only be sold with the kit in selected stores.

MU UCL NN is available at both Real One and ALI, a lot of choices too. Call them up to confirm availability!

It all depends on availability and stocks. Right now I think Sporting iD is just producing Arshavin's. If you're gonna curve it, i'd say stick to a shorter name laugh.gif

Guys, also this is my CNY offer for the Sunderland jersey, RM 100 until end of this weekend. It's an incredible offer, click on my my siggy if you're interested smile.gif

Caterbury "ELITE" (ie PI) would be very tight fitting, but material really good. May need to buy one size up if getting Elite.

hello to all, i'm new here.
i would like to ask forumer over here about my new jersey.
i bought the red france away jersey from sportsstop123 at ebay but right now i doubt that this is a replica jersey(because they way that the emblem and logo got stitched, not that smart and tidy).
bought it for 20 EUR.
i read the guideline for ori jersey by the jerseyman but i'm not convinced that i have an ori jersey.
can u have a look and tell me if my jersey is ori or not?
thanks rolleyes.gif

highly doubtful. i looked at his Italian shirts listing and they all come with Serie A patch. a seller would know how high priced and rare this item is and to sell a shirt with the patch on for GBP19.99, not a good sign. besides, the sponsor looks a bit too high and small.

I could be wrong though, the best way to know authentic or fake is to ask seller to take pics of the inner washing tag and the price tag, if unsure only then ask taiko in this forum. its difficult to tell just from that listing even for taikos here.

The jersey is a bit blurry but I tried to do a closeup to the price tag.. It has the correct light blue coloured barcode sticker on the price tag...

Too hard to tell.. The jersey could be authentic but the embroidery could be DIY because the quality is a bit so so to me....

Although the FCB crest is a bit senget.. this doesn't tell the authenticity. Sometimes it could be like that because of photographic illusions.. Best is to ask the seller to show more close up photos to tell is it authentic or not...

confirm fake bro. The tag is wrong, looks like an Asian fake tag. And if it is really an authentic Asian tag, there isn't any official embroidery that goes with the Asian tag as far as we know of. Another thing is i think the tag is on the wrong side of the sleeve...hmm?

Iswandy.. How can you tell the tag is wrong.. It looks so blurry la.. And what asian tag are you referring to? Or is it washing tag? I can't see any washing tag from the ebay sales page...

Tag placement doesn't really matter because it cannot determine the authenticity.. I've seen the same jersey having tags on different placements..

Anyway I'm not 100% sure if it's authentic or not because it is too blurry.... closeup on the photo doesn't do any justice at all:

user posted image

user posted image

If it's clearer and can see the Style Code.. if it's like this:

user posted image

Then confirm fake... But because it's blurry.. I can't dare to say it's fake. Or it's 100% authentic.. hard to tell..

Another way is to look at the seller's other items. Look at the Liverpool shirt. only one league badge on the sleeve and it is the worst badge ever.

Yup.. That Liverpool kit really looks fake.. The liverbird logo in the crest looks to big and bold as well....

because bro, euro tag is what we know looks like this...and if we blur it, there won't be any wordings on the middle. But from what we can see from the ebayer jersey, his tag has some words on the middle, so can rule out euro tag.

we can also observe that the sizing print is wrong. It shouldn't have the height/chest measurements printed which is accustom to euro version instead.

this jersey should also has its tag on the right instead of the left. Not sure why but fakes are prone to this. And i have not encounter any authentic shirt having its tag placed on the wrong side yet bro...hehee. Maybe no luck yet.

this is a fake tag right bro...?

Oh.. you were referring to the price tag then. Yup, the features of european market and asian market does differ... For sizing info too but it's not 100% consistent though.... But one of the good indicators.

But yes.. overall I would say that jersey looks fake to me.. The embroidery of the crest too looks bad....

because bro, euro tag is what we know looks like this...and if we blur it, there won't be any wordings on the middle. But from what we can see from the ebayer jersey, his tag has some words on the middle, so can rule out euro tag.

I checked at the photobucket link shown in the forum (link: http://s739.photobucket.com/albums/xx40/freestylers09/) and the 2 sample jerseys shown are suspected to be fake. Why?

1. The Barcelona 09/10 home jersey with IBRAHIMOVIC 9

a. It has a funny looking price tag:

user posted image

My argument:

i. The style code is wrong. It should start with 3xxxxx and not 1xxxxx. 1xxxx style code is for old design.
ii. The colour code is wrong. 010 is for black colour jerseys/shorts.

b. The NikeFIT embroidery looks dodgy:

user posted image

2. Liverpool 08/10 home jersey:

a. The price tag doesn't show the correct barcode sticker which has LIVERPOOL written on the white barcode sticker:

user posted image

Well.. maybe because the seller didn't flip the price tag. Something like this should exist on the price tag... the white coloured barcode sticker with the team's name:

user posted image

b. The CLIMACOOL logo looks dodgy:

user posted image

c. The sizing info near the collars looks dodgy:

user posted image

(I mean the font used... not the same like the original ones)

That's my humble opinion though... It's just that I'm not convince that the jerseys are authentic...

Just got two Newcastle jersey's today from NUFC official shop biggrin.gif

However i were charged Customs's Tax of RM171+RM25 of disimbursemnt fee from UPS sad.gif

Is there any way to get back the tax money? or how to avoid this type of issue in future...

I have called up UPS to explain on why i were taxed? She told me that if the product value CIF is more than RM500, i would be taxed accordingly cry.gif

Tell me first.. how much was the total price of the 2 jerseys including shipping fee?

We've been discussing this matter for many months already... and I was already advised by the Customs Dept to spread the news in the forum...... ensure your total purchase is below RM500... else, you will be taxed. Maybe you missed out on it.. pity though.. but what has happened has happened anyway.

Bad news is there is no way of getting back the money. Good news is that you have two awesome authentic jerseys... And you have learn a new lesson, never risk of buying jerseys with total inclusive of shipping fee of above RM500. Especially if it uses UPS.

Nice jerseys though.

Should have do my homework extensively next time then..

However i don't have the details for the order with me right now. Have deleted the email but i have the hard copy..Will post more details tommorow...

I've double checked the invoice, it stated there the whole package cost was 93.45 pounds but it doesn't separate the VAT and Freight Charges. They sum it up. Is there any ways to dispute this?

* to make things easier, i'll scanned the invoice copy and the order tommorow for you to evaluate..

hey there, i've been thru your lesson and it taught me well.
just keep the total CIF value (CIF - which means cargo + insurance + freight charges) under rm500 and u will be safe.

your value was 93.45pounds which means its almost rm550.
and the shipping value is sometimes different because certain companies have a fixed price for their customers, but they are charged differently by the shipping company. this means that u pay less for shipping because the site pays the extra for you (to keep it low).
so the full value is reflected in the CIF on the airway bill.

so as reminded by jerseyman just keep it under rm500 and u'll definitely be fine.

Normally it takes around 2 weeks to arrive. Remember that we just had CNY holidays.. so maybe you should wait.

Sometimes the parcel is already at Pos Malaysia's branch office... they just somehow delay sending it

Invoice

What makes me wonder why does our tax includes VAT in the total too? The invoice also didn't mentioned the discount that was offered to me that is 20 pounds, so they taxed me fully on the original jersey price which is 40 pounds.

I know that i can't get back the money but i want to learn more so that i can avoid freakin tax issue in the future.

One thing that bothers me is my ex-housemate normally order football boots and gloves from ProDirect and the amount is more than RM500 but he never get taxed. Why is it so?

Bro, before proceeding further on the discussion, please bear in mind what we share here is tax information, ie prudent spending within the limits of the law, and NOT how to avoid taxes etc. If its taxable, it has to be tazed. Simple as that. But ya i know where you are coming from, as in you wanna know how to be prudent and stay within the legal limit.

You can check the Customs website for more information on different taxes applied to different goods. You will know from your own enclosures above what section you are being charged with. Follow that and you will be able to find an appendix for all taxable items in Malaysia.

I have shared the link earlier (not sure in this thread or an older thread) but anyway its not too difficult. You can browse the appendix which lists all taxable items etc. Anyway to cut the story short, i do not think boots / gloves fall in the same class as jerseys / clothings, which may explain your friend's case (I may be wrong - please check). Another could be some sites do intentionally lower the amount on the customs declaration forms to stay below the limit. Sites like Subside do that on request too.

On the VAT and discount issue, it is for buyers to actively mail the sellers to get them to send a correct invoice. You should always check the invoice to ensure they reflect the true amount you have paid. Some sites require you to specifically request for removal of VAT for being oversaes, if not they will just charge you (ala the old Subside). It is obvious the officers are in their right to tax you based on the amount reflected in the invoice accompanying the parcel. Any discounts etc if not reflected, cannot be taken into account.

i believe that they put the VAT included value on your invoice so that it's covered by (a higher) insurance value, just in case it gets lost.

the customs will tax you according to your invoice.
so whatever shown there will be used for calculations.
so if your invoice is wrong, then u should complain to newcastle's shop issit?

Good news to those who missed out on the umbro retro england repro jerseys... Umbro has reproduced them back again and this time they are from S to XXXL.

You can buy them at kitbag. Here's the link:

Slight difference is that some of the retro jerseys are plain without the name number like the previous one.. where the England Euro 96 home repro had SHEARER 9, England Mexico 86 home repro had number 10.. but the England Italia 90 home repro still has the number 19 though..
