So tempting to choose between N1 and HD2 >"<

If you are using the app version, then it will be wiped..But there is ROM version from modaco too..That version will not be lost if a wipe is performed..However, wipe is indeed the main purpose of Wavesecure..Tracking is the second option actually in case your phone falls into a noob's hands..With wavesecure, at least you can wipe all your stuff from the phone in case its lost..Your bank data, contacts, emails, passwords, login data, pictures, EVERYTHING..I can tell, whoever manages to steal my N1 will get access to some of my very critical stuff because I use my N1 very very very personally..So wavesecure is a must have for me..I would never jeopardize my data so its very important for me at least..Besides, the app doesn't even run at all until the site sends an SMS command to the phone which will do the rest of the action

If you're not going to play HD, there is no other reason to go for HD2 Oh, and the screen brightness of N1 is better than HD2..I've compared it already..N1 has much vivid colors..

4 silly questions

1) do I need to kill the apps frequenly?
2) I'm using digi, and i've set the apn to diginet. i just subcribe to digi 3g RM58/mth unlimited... do i need to do xtra setting to get 3g connections?
3)the speaker is soft ... anyway to "enchance" it?
4) is there anyway to play facebook apps on nexus? like zynga poker...

1) Nope..Only when you need more memory..But its good to make it a habit..Just remember to safe-list your don't-want-to-kill-apps

4) Not until flash 10.1 is fully integrated with the Nexus One..Its coming really soon though..There is already a leak for it

I just heard about google voice...
when i try to download it from the marketplace..
it says it will replace my current google voice on my phone...
but i can't locate the program.
where can i find it? and where can i get a google voice account?

Oh yeah, this work.....almost forgot abt this method......However, you might not able to send out MMS as well......kc_soo, you can try it out. And if you going to use this method and to make your life easier, you can download an app call Phone Info that will auto bring up the phone information and no need of typing *#*#4636#*#* which I can't always remember

Have any of you guys used the Desktop Dock? Its quite tidious to plug and unplug the usb cable everytime I want to charge my N1.

It depend fully on your needs NOT your wants to make such a decision . I have been a WM user more than 10 years and I have used practically most of the dopod/htc models - yeh a very expensive "hobby" . My present WM is the htc HD2 - bought it when it was launched on Nov 09. I bought the Nexus One out of curiosity and also the avenue available to root it was tempting

I'd not like to go into the pros and cons of HD2 and Nexus. My advise is study both phone features - and decide which meet your NEEDS best

Of all the 3 desiree roms I have listed , I find the NexDesiree to be most stable. ALL cooked roms has bugs - it is only whether you can accept it or not. If you go to the forums of the individual roms - you will read all sorts of comments/or bugs - some are obviously there while some are erractic ( meaning some face it , while some don't ).

My first test was Modaco : Infact he labelled it as Alpha not even beta. You do not have aA2SD option here ; I find my touch screen freeze ocassionally - has to tap few times or at times need to slide the screen a few times before I can launch any program.

KingX was my next try - discarded it after2 hours - found it unstable and touch screen freeze issues

My last try was NexDesiree : this is most stable , 2 days on it already and do not have freeze issues as Modaco

My daily usage besides calls,SMS my other important needs are on emails, RSS, news feed, ebook. I don't play games nor do I need any great audio/video needs. As along as these are met without any problems - I am not concerned about the small bugs .

You mean labels? Yes, it does show labels, but apparently the labels are not colored differently I wish it was of course..My GMail has more than 40 labels and they are all very well assigned since the first day labels were introduced..hehe..

Hi, from what I understand the APN which use for MMS is set with APN type = mms.........for Digi, there's separate setting for internet and mms.......I beleive I can just remove the APN for internet access and remain mms APN so that I use for sending mms only. However, I have not tried it myself and it might or might not work

As for Maxis, there's only one APN setting with APN type = default,mms.......so I thaught I can just set APN Type=mms for sending mms only......apperantly it did not work as one of the member here have tried it

btw, i experienced some little bug on my original firmware today~
Just suddently cant activated my camera function while i wanted to snap something during lunch time and it just shows a message "Cant Connect to Camera" (something like this since i not really sure for the exact sentence) .. plus cant view photos in the photo gallery too. But luckily all this problem just gone after a system restart. (^^) anyone experienced this too?

for the *#*#4636#*#* command, i found that it sometime will auto enabled the data connection. Dunno the reason yet but i realized it after the "edge" or "3G" icon popup again at the top part.. so now i decided to delete the whole "Maxis(3G)" APN setting in case been trapped by Maxis data charged again.. haha~

Another problem is regarding to the "screen auto off" function. i have set it to 30s but i found the phone's screen will auto off too even i am touching the screen and using some application. i though it suppose to be start counting the 30s only when i didnt use the phone? anyone experienced this too? hehe~

Guys i just took the dive and undervolted my phone using kmobs #2 kernel. Everything is working so far. I will post about the system stability and the battery usage after using it for few more days.
