QUOTE(cleave @ Feb 4 2010, 05:43 PM)
I believe Digi 3G is 3G and Celcom 3G (and also Maxis) is 3.5G. So speedwise, Celcom & Maxis would win as they theoretically offer up to 3.6Mbps while Digi can only go up to 700Kbps. As you put it Neocable, network congestion is one of the downsides of Celcom. I used to be a Celcom 3G customer but due to the frequent lag, I terminated the service. I'm not too sure about this, but I think Digi will switch to EDGE if 3G coverage is not available, and EDGE is something Celcom doesnt have.
*
as a digi internet customer for the past few months..
i can confirm digi average speed is at least 1mbps consistently
i have used celcom and maxis broadband before.. none of those can provide the stability as digi offers.

the downside for digi is very limited 3g coverage...normally when i;m going back to my hometown i just subscribed to celcom daily broadband since in my kg there's celcom hsdpa coverage.

i have digi and celcom postpaid numbers so it shouldn't be a problem for me.

Kl Traffic cam is cool.
Dev by locals not bad but some videos cant load.
Doesnt support rstp protocol. Any solutions?
*
there's a kl traffic app for symbian as well..
if it's from the same developer, it's not a video stream but webcam image of ITIS and dbkl webcam throughout the city.
you have to refresh accordingly.

thats pretty pricey. if you have a relative/friend with a singapore shipping address and card, you can get it less than 1900 rm shipping included
*
if you have citibank credit card you can buy it via citi globeshopper...i have calculated the total cost..it's around RM2100++, if included docking station around RM2300++.
it is rough estimation including local taxes. smile.gif

last night i managed to root and flash cyan ROM...but i;m not sure i do it properly or not concerning WIPE part...
in amon RA recovery there are a few options to WIPE but i only choose the first one, wipe data something...is it the right way or i have to wipe every single option in the menu??

because in the cyan guide only mention WIPE...

Guys , I keep missing calls and SMS's get really badly delayed for some reason .

Anyone experiencing this ? I get more Miss call sms's than anything .. Really weird . I've a feeling that when my EDGE is up and running in my pocket , the first few attempts at calling me wont get through

And also when I go somewhere where there is no 3G internet coverage or EDGE , when I go somewhere that has it , the data connection doesn't come back , I have to turn on Airplane mode , and turn off , then only the internet comes back
*
i don't experience such things, at least around my house..i haven't manage to get out yet since i got my nexus.
i already test sending sms, calling (receive & make call) etc..everything seems fine here.

but i don't use stock ROM, i flashed to cyan 5.0.4 ROM.

I'm on 5.0.3, notice anything wrong with the camera after you flash? Some of the ppl have pink spot on their phones after flashing to 5.0.4.
*
that problem exist in stock ROM and never been fixed.
in fact the pink spot in camera exist in many phones (not only in nexus one)...
my nokia 5800 also face the same problem..

people reported the pink spot issue doesn't exist when flashed to desire ROM...but i'm not going to flash to desire ROm until it is final version.

i dont understand, i'm in PJ ss17, but my DiGi 3G is still intermittent???

whyy LOL

Added on March 1, 2010, 3:11 pmI've used WCDMA ONLY in the settings, and it doesnt even detect 3G signal sometimes. Way to go man. biggrin.gif
*
maybe digi 3g network got problem around your area?
i'm in kajang...the digi 3g signal is stable...most of the time on H symbol...
only in some spots downstairs a bit choppy, but that's normal for all telcos in those particular areas in my house.
preferred network is set to "prefer WCDMA" or something similar

one more thing, i observed similar behaviour in my other phone (nokia 5800xm)..sometimes 3g and 2g switch back and forth even in strong signal area...
i use celcom & digi... both switching 3g/2g network intermittently ...
i guess the problem lies on the telco transmission itself??

*

No it doesn't need to be in dock mode. Are you using any task killer? It might be the cause, could be it killed the clock's service or something. I experienced it too last time when I killed everything LOL. Maybe you can try adding clock to your ignore list in the task killer.

Added on March 1, 2010, 5:26 pmAnybody doing a userbar for nexus one?  I'm doing one tonight if I have the time.

k, thanks smile.gif I already wipe it. (Wipe measn factory reset right?)

What the benefit of using CM 5.0.3?

From instruction I see at http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/to...v5041-02272010/

and seems their instruction too shortcut, Is it neccesary do Nandroid backup and how?

How to do radio update?

How to install Google Add-on?

After use CM 5.0.3 or 5.0.4.1 - can back to original?

* Sorry for so many question, haha.
*
you have to install amon RA recovery image first...if you can get the recovery working then everything will be alright.
yes it is necessary to do nandroid back up so you can go back to previous backup if anything goes wrong.

Thanks, do you might give me some instruction on using Nandroid backup and also how to update radio and google add-on
*
you need to study on how to go to fastboot and recovery image first...and also the approriate command on how to do it.

google addon and cyan ROM in zip format put in your SD card...then install the zip file from amon ra recovery "window"
nandroid backup also can do it from recovery

radio image you can flash using fastboot...just put the radio image in c:\androidsdk\tools

i'm a first time android user and never use linux before can get it to work within few hours, so i think everyone can do it especially those who familiar with linux.

I'm not actually a guru here, but i'll try my best to help. tongue.gif

Yes install amon RA recovery image first.

benefit/updates of using CM 5.0.3 you can see in the changelog in the same link you posted.

Google Addon, you do it just like how you did with the CM, copy to the root directory of your SDCard.

Radio, i didnt install it, my wifis are working fine without it.

Nandroid, i dont think i did it too, was too confused and desperate when i did mine tongue.gif  but its better you do it.
(http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Nandroid_backup - if you need to use the ALT + L step, I tried on mine, you should press and hold POWER button then press UP VOLUME key, we dont have hardware keyboard D: )

back to stock ROM? yes if i'm not mistaken, there's a stock ROM uploaded by one dude somewhere in the xda forum.

------------------------
------------------------
PS: gurus, when i boot into recovery mode, i dont see "Create Nandroid  backup" option, i only see the following. (do you guys get this?)

Android system recovery <2e>

Use trackball to highlight; click to select.

reboot system now
apply sdcard:xxxxx.zip
wipe date/factory reset
wipe cache partition
___________________________________________________

E: cant open /cache/recovery/command
*
i flashed the latest version of amon RA, it has the option to do backup/restore
