QUOTE(KahLooN @ Apr 21 2010, 06:23 PM) @dlwl thanks for the link. what specs do you use together with this card? what are the power requirements? can it be used to watch HD videos?If I'm not mistaken, x1950pro>x1950gt. Memory and core speed of the x1950pro is slightly higher. As for comparing which PCIE card is equivalent, I have no idea. Well, I seldom play game so I can't comment whether it playable on high settings. So I include this 2 links to give you a rough idea how the cards perform. http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=553 http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?cid=3&id=2170 |

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Apr 22 2010, 01:24 AM) Tested it just now. No thermal paste on the CPU? Yup, PSU fan problem. Gonna buy some lubricant when the sun is up. At first I thought it is the processor fan since I didn't put any thermal paste on since the day I've mass clean my P4, which is many many months ago. Still going strong Lucky I posted here. Coz I was planning to buy a new PSU already. |

@V12kompressor
Well at least you found out the real culprit for the noisy sound. Haha, is time to add some thermal paste bro. Probably you need to list down what you need to purchase when shopping in Lowyat. @dlwl The spec used with the card is in my sig. The recommended power requirement is quoted below: "450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps, 12 volt rail is recommended (assumes fully loaded system)" |

After 4 nights of assembling/disassembling me pee4 has finally transformed from tower to htpc. Lowering cpu fan from 3700rpm(intel hsf) to 2000rpm(copper hsf).
Full ATX HTPC may sound roomy This post has been edited by mengwhye: Apr 30 2010, 10:45 PM |

QUOTE(ycs @ Apr 21 2010, 10:17 AM) just wanna ask if i can remove the NB fan on my abit AI7 board and use the passive cooler only? Just replace the fan.. the fan sounds like going to die. QUOTE(ycs @ Apr 21 2010, 12:28 PM) where to get a replacement NB fan for my abit AI7? Look around the garage sales section. Anyway, check the fan size.. QUOTE(dlwl @ Apr 22 2010, 10:41 PM) thanks for the link. what specs do you use together with this card? what are the power requirements? can it be used to watch HD videos? For HD videos, you may want to consider at either least Radeon HD3600 series or higher, Radeon 4600 series or higher, and GeForce 8600 or higher (ie. GeForce cards much more recommended due to higher compatibility with "out of specification" formats). These GPUs have H.264/VC-1 hardware acceleration. |

Previously was using RC version. I feel the full release version is somehow better than the RC in my opinion. |
