what edmin meant is there's a song on radio, by a group called boys like girls, featuring another artist, taylor swift.

the title 2 is better than 1, also fits the pentium D > pentium 4 thing laugh.gif

guys, those who are using windows 7 now, what's your rating for the processor?
my friend's P4 3.0 only got 1.8 for processor rating sad.gif

the rest of the scores are ok, around 3+. it couldn't be that bad rite?

@ray & exuar,
thanks for the reply. what could be the problem? the only thing i know is that his internals are quite dusty, but does that really effect the performance until this extend?
my friend is also using 1.5GB. seems quite ok to me, but he tells me that if open more than 3-4tabs on safari it'll start to lag. if i'm not mistaken safari is quite a ram hogger isn't it?

@shinjite and ray,
yeah will probably suggest to him to switch browsers and see if there's any difference. gotta ask him to clean up his rig too smile.gif

@edmin,
you got it brand new? that amount could buy quite a decent 775 mobo already biggrin.gif

*
you mean this model?
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/...lID=530&LanID=0

if it yes, then yes it can support sata hdd. but only sata I though, just 1.5Gbps speed. Newer mobos have sata II.

yes you can use it, but the speed will drop down to 1.5Gbps, coz if not mistaken that hdd is sata II. don't worry, shouldn't be a major problem. the 3.5 means the size of the hdd, 3.5inches. notebook ones are 2.5inches btw smile.gif

hmm my p4 mobo spoil
can anyone got idea
where can get mobo of it ?

maybe you can search at the garage sales if you wanna look for 2nd hand. if for new ones you have to hunt around abit, they're hard to find nowadays. maybe you can try asking edmin here, he just got one not long ago smile.gif

i think your proc can fetch quite a good price, 3.4GHz P4 is quite a rare one isn't it?
and yeah, ddr1 rams are expensive now, less demand in the market now.

that's why most users are switching platforms already wink.gif

my friend is thinking of changing his graphic card, and he's trying to minimize the budget for his upgrade. thinking of going for 3850 AGP, anyone here using it? and does he need to upgrade his PSU too? using the stock one from dell.

current specs are 3.0HT, 1.5GB ram.

3850 AGP is a nice upgrade but you will still see some bottleneck over there. Someone is selling it brand new at RM299.
*
there's bound to be bottleneck with p4 proc, rite? laugh.gif
it's either upgrade the gc, or maybe get a mobo with pci-and ddr2. i think with pci-e gc the bottleneck problem would be worse.

Your friend looking for 3850? I'm letting go my x1950pro, maybe you can ask your friend interested on this card. nod.gif
*
i saw one x1950gt at garage sales too. how does it perform? what pci-e gc does it compare to?
my friend wants to play PES2010 with medium/high settings.

If I'm not mistaken, x1950pro>x1950gt. Memory and core speed of the x1950pro is slightly higher.
As for comparing which PCIE card is equivalent, I have no idea.

Well, I seldom play game so I can't comment whether it playable on high settings. So I include this 2 links to give you a rough idea how the cards perform. smile.gif

thanks for the link. what specs do you use together with this card? what are the power requirements? can it be used to watch HD videos?

Previously was using RC version. I feel the full release version is somehow better than the RC in my opinion.
*
probably they have had most of the bugs, if not all, rectified from the RC version before they released the final version smile.gif

if they're old, maybe you should go for the microsoft set yourself instead tongue.gif
you can use for your htpc rig brows.gif
my friends are using microsoft wireless products too, and the battery life lasts quite a long time. about 3-4 months. what model are they selling in the promotion?
