If pee4 can run vista, win7 should be okay. Just need to find working drivers for printers and webcams.

Btw, me is thinking of turning me 3.2 HT into HTPC. Not ready to decomission my pea4 into useless metal. blush.gif

1080P playback....single core for total 100% smooth, need 4Ghz sweat.gif

I disagree with this, because i tested a 1080p movie and to my horror most of my installed players stutters on playback. It was finally saved by the simpliest of all players - Media Player Classic sweat.gif
I don't know if it's MPC optimization transfering some of that processing from the cpu to the gpu, or just that it's very light weight. wink.gif

Anyway is it normal for pee4 stock fan to run at 3500 rpm? Coz me new computer cpu fan is <1500rpm at idle, and 2500rpm at peak

After 4 nights of assembling/disassembling me pee4 has finally transformed from tower to htpc. Lowering cpu fan from 3700rpm(intel hsf) to 2000rpm(copper hsf). tongue.gif

Full ATX HTPC may sound roomy ohmy.gif , but it isn't!

Hi all, has anyone seen any 4670 agp on sale? Was thinking maybe a downgrade from the 3850 agp would make noise bearable for a htpc?
Apparently the hdmi on 4 series supports audio as well..

laugh.gif sometimes it's weird that when you hoping for the mobo to die so that can upgrade, it doesn't, but when you don't want it to die, it somehow dies sweat.gif

This is the problem when they build a mobo like a tank with no OC features. No reason for it to go wrong laugh.gif
