QUOTE(eastwest @ Feb 19 2010, 11:44 AM) yea. I'm selling laptops with i5 in it and IT WAS SO GOD DAMN TEMPTING!!!!!Anyway, I spring cleaned my rig before CNY and I think I forgot to put thermal paste on the CPU (The last time I checked, it was completely dried out). Anyone can recommend me a good one? |

oh, how sad
speaking of which, my system has been acting up too. I don't know either the processor fan or PSU fan is the culprit. Every morning I woke up, I can hear the noise of the fan spinning in a very noisy manner. >.< Hopefully its the PSU fault. |

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Apr 21 2010, 09:49 AM) If fan problem, just take it out and drop some singer oil to the fan ball bearing...problem will be solved. QUOTE(KahLooN @ Apr 21 2010, 10:08 AM) @v12kompressor Tested it just now.Well you can open up the side panel and listen to it, it will give you a more indication which fan is failing. Like what raymond suggest, after that you can add some oil to it. Yup, PSU fan problem. Gonna buy some lubricant when the sun is up. At first I thought it is the processor fan since I didn't put any thermal paste on since the day I've mass clean my P4, which is many many months ago. Still going strong Lucky I posted here. Coz I was planning to buy a new PSU already. This post has been edited by V12Kompressor: Apr 22 2010, 01:26 AM |

Good luck with that PM8MV. I've tried and tried for almost 6 months already to have the SATA ports working. I've tried updating the BIOS and everything but still useless.
Worst still, each and every extra RAM I slot in it comes out error. Stuck at 500Mb RAM forever. To all P4 users here, its sad to say I'm departing from this platform. My new download rig will be either Dual Core or Sempron/Athlon powered. I will only make the switch when my current 1TB HDD is full. Oh, and remember my 808GB HDD? It has died too. Have it RMAed and WD swapped a 1TB HDD for me. All my "1 year Jack Sparrow" gone. This post has been edited by V12Kompressor: Sep 19 2010, 09:30 AM |
