Its the settings~~as simple as that

Plus use CoreAVC, ffdshow still can't quite do the job nicely yet
CoreAVC is a commercial product though (not free) sweat.gif

Hei people, I had some information to let you guys know. I'm retiring from my P4 platform. smile.gif

Reason was my mobo had been acting up the past 1 week, sometimes it can boot sometimes it can't.
I had try swapping rams and graphic card but the PC still unable to boot properly. So come to think of it the mobo would be the culprit.

Anyhow, I'll will be letting go my rams and graphic card. If any P4 user is interested, you all are welcome to have a look. flex.gif

But I will still be lurking around this thread since I'm user of P4 socket478. nod.gif

That is normal in OC. When you are increasing the speed (FSB) of the CPU, the ram will also be following the speed. Unless you change the ratio, 3:2 or 5:4.
By doing so, the ram will be running in a slower speed. smile.gif

@fylon
Currently not thinking to change to any side yet, budget constraint. tongue.gif

Well seriously I'm bit reluctant to sell the parts, but due to P4 sc478 parts is very hard to get nowadays. So might as well I let go the parts I have to other potential buyers.

My P4 have serve me very well for the past 5years. smile.gif

Yo,kahloon lost his P4 again......sad to hear this.....

@fylon,long time no hearing from you...how is your P4 rig bought in last time?Still using?

@\(^.^)/, 4.05GHz and 4.5GHz has a lot of different. nelza's proc is able to go high but with some other ratio on the RAM there.

oh, how sad

speaking of which, my system has been acting up too. I don't know either the processor fan or PSU fan is the culprit. Every morning I woke up, I can hear the noise of the fan spinning in a very noisy manner. >.<

Hopefully its the PSU fault.

If fan problem,just take it out and drop some singer oil to the fan ball bearing...problem will be solved.

3850 AGP is a nice upgrade but you will still see some bottleneck over there. Someone is selling it brand new at RM299.

@raymond
Yeah, but my system had serve me very long already. If it give up then is not a surprise. smile.gif

@v12kompressor
Well you can open up the side panel and listen to it, it will give you a more indication which fan is failing. nod.gif
Like what raymond suggest, after that you can add some oil to it. rclxms.gif

@dlwl
Your friend looking for 3850? I'm letting go my x1950pro, maybe you can ask your friend interested on this card. nod.gif

I am not recommending you to do that.....Use an active cooler is better.

there's bound to be bottleneck with p4 proc, rite? laugh.gif
it's either upgrade the gc, or maybe get a mobo with pci-and ddr2. i think with pci-e gc the bottleneck problem would be worse.

If I'm not mistaken, x1950pro>x1950gt. Memory and core speed of the x1950pro is slightly higher.
As for comparing which PCIE card is equivalent, I have no idea.

Well, I seldom play game so I can't comment whether it playable on high settings. So I include this 2 links to give you a rough idea how the cards perform. smile.gif

Tested it just now.
Yup, PSU fan problem. Gonna buy some lubricant when the sun is up.
At first I thought it is the processor fan since I didn't put any thermal paste on since the day I've mass clean my P4, which is many many months ago. tongue.gif
Still going strong flex.gif

Lucky I posted here. Coz I was planning to buy a new PSU already. blush.gif
