if u dont mind the VR, u could consider 80-200 f2.8 nikkor which cost alot cheaper smile.gif
*
Haven't tried it out before, only tried the VRII so far tho. Will keep in mind of this 80-200.

QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Jan 2 2010, 01:26 PM)
the biggest and most expensive 50mm in the market.
Can i know what price they are selling right now?

The pricing is below RM1.5k if I'm not mistaken. Slightly cheaper than the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G.

D5000 is like the bigger brother of D3000, so if budget allows go for D5000.

Higher ISO capability, 12MP opposed to D3000's 10MP... Yada yada, basically all advantages, but more pricey.

I'm a D5000 user myself. I initially planned on getting the D3000. Read up a lot, surveyed prices and changed my mind totally.
I stretch my budget a lil bit and went for the D5000 straight cos I know I won't be upgrading anytime soon.

Usefulness of the live view:
I like the swiveling live view to take pictures of myself tongue.gif

Here's a little read between them both: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond3000/
Basically, the D3000 is a tiny little improvement from the D60. And the D5000 specs is slightly lower than D90, the most significant being the no in body focus motor. (*sobs* more expensive lenses)

So, if you have the budget... and not upgrading within months, D5000 is the obvious choice.

The d3 was amusing! It responds VERY FAST, and that 500mm lens is SOOOOO big and looks very heavy. I can capture the signboards on the opposite block clearly. The shutter sound is SEXY~ and d700 also not bad, but i dunnoe where to find the mode dial (M,A,S,P) thingy. too noob to use FF haiz...

wan zoom in in playback also dunno how >.<

i learned how to operate basic functions of D3
to change mode u have to press n hold a button(forgot which 1), then turn the command dial
to change shutter release mode is to turn a dial on the left under the flash mode, BKT
to change AF mode is a switch beside the LCD
i n my D40x owner fren so noob that it took us quite some time to found out those manual settings tongue.gif
we even turn the camera 180degree face inside the store, then took some sexy bokeh pics drool.gif drool.gif

i not dare to switch to burst mode, cuz when i shoot with single mode many ppl staring at me already, cuz most of them just see, not capturing anything. I am the only one who "kacha kacha"... continuous shooting sure poison, the sound also made me can't sleep already XD

that's why im still online here XD
