hey... which model do u guy recommend?? D3000 or D5000?? Which one is better and why??

Hi guys, need some advice from u guys but not sure is this the right post for it here? I currently owned a D3000 & i bought it on 27/11/09, just barely 1 mth plus & i bought it from Hong Kong with International warranty Service.

I love my new cam as it is really easy to manage & good for beginners But lately i heard the calling for D90 or a pre-loved D300 as i'm thinking of getting a lil serious wt photography. Wt my budget constrain, i need to sell off my new baby but i couldn't find what's the second-hand price for this model as it is still very new. Another question is how much can i sell it for? Would ppl want to buy a set from HK?

yaa...will take all advise seriously, try to improve my gear n skill, hope soon update my pic here but not now lor..even my "anak buah" also complain my pic....huuhuhuu.

That's confusing me... either get a D5000 or a D90..
IIRC, D90 released on 2008 right?? It's a 2y.o model... Sked later bought this and come out a new model to replace D90, then really am tui d...

My budget is RM4k+-... Totally new to DSLR... Want a good DSLR, i'm not a enthusiasts that upgrade DSLR every few months... hehe

18-55mm 3.5-5.6 is already well known kit len in nikon family.
28-105 is a old lens if i m not wrong, should be a D len so the nikon without a build in focusing motors wont be able to auto focus.
at 105 mm without a VR really need a tripod or a very steady hand. (Classic lens) kinda old but it still a very good lens because at 105 mm u still retain the high aperture of 4.5 which actually may give u nice bokeh in just the nice distance for portrait.

handheld? i seethe picture doesnt look sharp enuff except #1 >.< or my eyes getting shakky???

Long shutter + tripod is better. Flash gun for these kinda of pictures.. hmm.. not sure how it'll turn out 

Of course cannot brighten up the twin tower, need multiple 'strobes' aka spot lights for that haha!

Some of his pics got objects much nearer ma.. if brighten up also those will overexpose first.. weird picture might appear lol. I've not personally tried landscape with flash yet..

for my opinion, D3000 is more friendly to new user...and cheaper to D5000...

I have a tamron 70-300mm...cheap but no antishake mechanism.
Better to get a Nikon 55-200mm VR or if you can afford it,the nikon 70-300mm VR.
As far as i know,Sigma 18-200mm got OS (sigma antishake)...Tamron 18-200 & Tamron 18-250 doesnt,the Tamron 18-270 got antishake though.

The nikon 55-200 VR is below rm900

generally a rule of thumb, the bigger the focal range, IQ is compromised.

So , decide what you want, either the 18-200 (more exp) or 55-200vr (cheaper, addition to your kitlens). but then again, there's always a price to pay for convenience of not having to swap lens.

if 18-200 = get the nikon 18-200vr (used ~rm1.6-1.7k). it's worth adding a few more hundreds to your budget.
