today i went to time square's nikon centre. I played the D3 with 500mm f2.8. Super cun and sharp! the focus is damn fast and the "kacha" sound is so FAST and SYOK! T.T power of full frame...
*
me n my frens went there n play with the cams on wednesday
we spent a whole hour molesting those cams, especially the D3 drool.gif
we hogged the D3 for bout 15mins i think, until some guy waiting to test it glare at us only we cabut tongue.gif
finally got 1 of my best fren poisoned by DSLR, now he whole day grumbling cant stand the poison laugh.gif

The d3 was amusing! It responds VERY FAST, and that 500mm lens is SOOOOO big and looks very heavy. I can capture the signboards on the opposite block clearly. The shutter sound is SEXY~ and d700 also not bad, but i dunnoe where to find the mode dial (M,A,S,P) thingy. too noob to use FF haiz...

wan zoom in in playback also dunno how >.<
*
i learned how to operate basic functions of D3
to change mode u have to press n hold a button(forgot which 1), then turn the command dial
to change shutter release mode is to turn a dial on the left under the flash mode, BKT
to change AF mode is a switch beside the LCD
i n my D40x owner fren so noob that it took us quite some time to found out those manual settings tongue.gif
we even turn the camera 180degree face inside the store, then took some sexy bokeh pics drool.gif drool.gif

Im not sure, but i guess the warranty system is like this?
u buy from MY, u have 1 year MY warranty n 6 months international warranty
same as buy from HK, i year HK warranty but 6 months international

most laptops companies have such similar system
2 years warranty, but only 1st year is international warranty, 2nd year is only local warranty

actually i juz want to bounce the flash. only for indoor use i suppose. not worth it?
*
SB400 only can bounce flash when taking horizontal pics
it cant tilt left or right so no bounce flash when taking vertical pics

Sigma have the most expensive 50mm in the market, i m just surprise when u say consider the cheaper sigma smile.gif
u almost got me so happy hehe, shansinki still selling at rm 2200++  sad.gif

sb400 is so useless, if u plan not to spend alot, go for the nissin di466 which cost like rm350 -450 secondhand.
If u dont play CLS, just use it to fill flash or bounce flash to create a more natural lighting.

sb400 is so rubbish , it make a SLR user looks like a point & shoot user
*
wrong, Canon 50L is the most expensive 50mm in the market whistling.gif

n dun so harsh on SB400 la, there r SB400 users out there, n Nikon came out with it im sure there r some usefulness to it
at least it is far better than the PnS style built-in flash la laugh.gif

Just imagine your fren wanted to surprise u so much in buying something photography related and give u a SB400 as a gift.
What will be your reaction.

first thing to say to him : thank you very much

last thing to say before u sleep with it : WTF i surpose to do with this?

jeje , no offence

sweat.gif
*
haha, if i got fren that rich to give me a present that expensive i happy lor laugh.gif
anyway, if u ask me, wtf i need SB400 when i have SB900 liao? laugh.gif tongue.gif whistling.gif
maybe i say thx to my fren then nxt day terus go sell it tongue.gif

QUOTE(Sp00kY @ Jan 12 2010, 12:55 PM)
anyone here that owns D5000 and D90?
my friend has a D5000 and i realized that its matrix metering isnt as accurate as the D90 one.
It tends to underexpose the pic by quite abit. (all exif are the same)

eg:
D90, 18-55mm, iso 200, A mode, f/3.5, matrix metering, ADL OFF
Achieved shutter = 1/100

D5000, 18-55mm, iso 200, A mode, f/3.5, matrix metering, ADL OFF
Achieved shutter = 1/200

This was what happened to my friend's D5000...thanks
*
metering on D90 n D5000 is most likely the same
but D5000 AI tends to underexpose pic, thats wat i noticed after using my D5000 for so long
thats y i prefer use M mode
