eli does ur rabbit bite the playpen?
i notice he likes to bite it.
afraid he might eat the paint and kill himself coz i see paint peeling, considering a plastic playpen now sad.gif

Yes, bites it like crazy! But so far no issues as I don't think he swallows it. Been a more than a year so far.

been biting it alot.
at first i thought because he dulan i dun give him kangkung but now i'm wondering if he likes to eat the paint rclxub.gif
thinking of either getting him a mineral stone coz mebbe he biting the cage to sharp his teeth.
or mebbe get one of those plastic type of playpen.

now i put a box to block the area he like to bite he like dulan/sleepy mode now, just laying around.

today he not eating much.

gave him some apples he usually loves but today not eating.
not doing much poo also, just now carry him he like wanna bite me.
accidentally let him fall on the floor but he seems okay after that when i let him roam.

hi

something to share about rabbit colar that i got today.it is nice but cant let your rabbit with the rope alone.they will chew it off (haha).
it is design with 4 holes where two holes put in front of rabbit legs and two holes on their body/behind front legs.it doesnt tie to their neck like dog.therefore, it doesn't choke their neck.however, because it is a rabbit ,most of the time it doesn't go forward like a dog.instead u need to drag them n then only they move.to cut long story short, this colar is good when u have big space to let them roam but want to control their movement (lazy to chase them). cost $14 only (get it from J Jay Pet Station at Kota Damansara). it is behind Standard Chartered bank / behind 7Eleven).

neuter is not an option as the older rabbit is too old and neutering him will endanger his life.
Yes, we have to admit, we never read enough before introducing another rabbit into the cage.
All we have initially is to give the other male another companion.
Obviously, the situation turn back and we are trying very hard to calm both of them down.
knowing the aggresion, thats the reason we seperated both of them now.
As punishing him, i just use a chopstick to push him to the corner making sure he won;t react.
Spraying with water just hope that will stop them but it just ain;t work. We dried them immediately after each spray.
As for chocking, can't blame me, is just human reaction when we got bitten, we are either reacted by hitting, or chocking..
now, I am giving him the priority.the new rabbit will first receive the food, water, and whenever we move him out to an isolated play pen, he wil lbe the first to go out.
One of the reason I post here is to seek help, we are still hoping to keep the new rabbit ..thats the reason why we ask for help ..giving it away is the last thing we want to do since we took him back from previous owner.

The old rabbit is very obidient and very gentle.. thats why he wa sthe one being bitten badly. Pity him ..
We used to bring the old rabbit to kindergarden and mix around with kids ..thats what my gf used to do tongue.gif
We used to put the colar for both of our rabbit.
Recently, we decided to put them in a playpen and let them run withi nthe play pen outside the garden brows.gif

Today I went to j jay pet station! The rabbits are so cute! The HL is very playful and cheeky but definitely a dominant character. Don't think my hector could get along with him. Sure fight. The ND is a better bet, very patient with the HL. He isn't scared but simply let's the HL be the boss. Kekekeke, think the ND is a good match for hector. Seriously considering a second rabbit. Think hector needs the company. But afraid if they can't bond, that could be big big trouble sad.gif

Considering taking hector to beh's farm and letting him choose a partner. Big decision to make!

Decentdevil,

Since the younger rabbit is the aggressive one, just neuter him and see if he calms down.

Beh very nice smile.gif I'm sure if I beg hard enough he will allow biggrin.gif that's something I learned from furrybutts blog. When she wanted to choose a friend for her rabbit, she took him to the farm and observed which rabbit let her buck boss him around. Always choose a more submissive character so the original rabbit doesn't feel so threaten.

It will be hard to find a mate for your doe unless u buy one yourself. Contrary to popular belief it is hard to mate rabbits, especially if they are not already bonded. Plus the female rabbit is much more ferocious than the male. Unlikely anyone with experience will let ur rabbit mate with theirs. If anything goes wrong, their rabbit might get injured by yours.

Also, HLs are one of the hardest rabbits to breed. That's y there is usually a waiting list with breeders like beh and sangterap. That is also why they are so expensive. A male ND might cost u rm500 but a HL will cost u much more. Does are even more expensive IF u can even get a breeder to sell u one.

Eli, ur wise thumbup.gif

my female rabbit is smaller & thinner than HL (J Jay Station that I saw). If they really mate,i doubt my rabbit dare to bite/injure him.he is double/triple of her size.somemore, my rabbit is obedient.she dont bite ppl and show good behaviour. scare she might die if she deliver babies as the babies might be bigger than her (due to HL breed).

guess no hope for me here/forum to mate my rabbit with Holland Lop breed unless i buy the super cute doe HL.....sigh deeply...........
