aiyo...don ever give them those...it must upset their stomach...young rabbit stomach not strong..please stick to pellets and timothy&alfafa hay... even im so adventerous..i don give my rabbit carrot...it is know to make them diarea
as for my DIY tissue box, i cut a square box.. they just eat from the hole..not on top of it...but the bottom hole...look carefully at pic12.JPG at my post comment above/previous page
pic4.JPG is for us where we can easily put hay on top of it.
u can post more clarification if u don get it

yaya,i saw it ady...but if it pull it hard, all aso will drop out...ending droping down the tray....i will try to DIY..

For the vege,i tot can give them...as in the front page...tot can save some cost on hay and change some different food for them..so i will stop the vege first.when i can give them?

i consider ur very lucky as your 2 rabbit didnt die.your rabbit just age less 2 month and ur feeding them vege.keeping rabbit as pet is not cheap,it might be more costly than keeping a dog.

i recommend you feed your young rabbit timothy & alfafa hay and pelletls only.make sure u give them timothy (2 me is most important food source).
dont peluk or carry them as u just got them last fri...if possible, try dont touch or play with them for 1 to 2 weeks.let them familiar with your house/environment.
rabbit easily die due to pressure.give them eat vitamin once a week, not daily....their urine will become redish if too much protein/vitamin..

nolah...for the DIY tissue box,...because hay itself is long...it comes down nicely....unless u buy those mash type..i like those uncut version..they feel more satisfy...and good for their teeth too...

by the way, is your cage predator proof?last time, my cage gap allow my rabbit escape..lucky that time i put her in my store room ...they can squueze their body...next day..i have to return n buy another cage...now the gap is impossible for her to squueze...it look like bird cage....

Hi babyying,

Your rabbits look underaged. How old are they? Do you know that underaged rabbits < 2 months old die easily if they are not around their family? They have a weak heart, weak mind and weak antibody. So if they lose too much sleep or appetite (which probably will happen if they are put into a new house) they can pass away just like that. Plus the lice makes it worse...baby rabbit's skin are so thin and undeveloped, too much of itchy lice and they can just die from skin infection.

I think most people still don't get the information that RABBITS BELOW 2 MONTHS OLD SHOULDN'T BE SEPARATED FROM ITS FAMILY FIRST! THEY WILL DIE VERY EASILY! But nvm babyying, at least you know now...next time if you want to rare rabbit or any pet at all, remember to read information online and there are lots of information in this thread's 1st page (Lowyat Forum got lots of other Pet care threads too) and do further research through google or any search engine if needed. For any pet you want to bring back also, you need to check whether they are healthy or not. Some pets can spread diseases to another pet (and some even effect humans!).

From your photos I see you feed your rabbits with vegetable also, which is not recommended for baby rabbits. Vegetable contain a lot of water inside and your baby rabbits stomach can't process too much of it...which may lead to stomachache or diarrhea (cirit-birit/lao sai). I know a lot of people who accidently kill their baby rabbit cause feed too much of vegetable, and mostly carrots cause they see Bugs Bunny eating carrot a lot... doh.gif

Vegetable are just sweet treats to rabbit, they are NOT their main food. Only give them sparingly. Veges for them is like candies/cakes/sweets to us...imagine what will happen if we didn't eat rice/bread but just eat candy all day right...even adult also will have stomach problem. rclxub.gif

Anyways, I hope you stay strong and think positive. Be sure to do more reading and research online to keep a healthier pet in the future! smile.gif

my baby rabbit is valentine baby. 14/02.. that time i bought them., they where just around 5-6 weeks... this is my 1st time have rabbit as pet. so i tried my best to give them clean environment etc.. i gave them the best pallets, n always accompany them whenever i have time. whenever i sleep, they will sleep too. but once i wake up, they will wake too. they are very adorable n playful... maybe all those reason that u mentioned is why my baby tuo tuo died.. coz she is the most healthy. both of them like to eat different things. tuo tuo will eat the leaf, tao tao will eat the other..

i'm still recovering from the pain.. since the day they leave me on 28th april... i wanted to have another rabbits as pet, but scare that i will 'kill' another 1... cry.gif

Hrmm...yeah i understand your feelings. People think rabbits are cute and easy to care, but actually rabbits are rather weak and pass away easily if they eat the wrong food or kena disease. So if you really want to care for another rabbit, do read all the information in the 1st page first ya. smile.gif

where u buy your rabbit?which shop? next time our readers here will be extra careful.
i agree everything kazuki85 comment.

if you can afford, dont buy from petshop as u dont know the actual age.they are more towards business minded mentality.buy from direct rabbit breeder like Beh & Yo.He is famous in Malaysia rabbit world. If not, buy from sangterap.
If budget issue, buy older rabbit from petshop instead just arrive rabbit.

if not mistaken....in this forum...got an owner who rabbit die more than 4/5 times whenever he buy it.....if u rajin..u read page by page ...i cant recall who..

if i were u,i get another one instead two... life in the end is death...whether u like it or not...so don put guilt at yourself...if your 2 rabbit not with u, one day they also will die..... it is not like u eat them after they die.....or u accident step on them until die.. or torture them to death..

if u got read my posting,i torture my rabbit in a special way..haha.. to cut long story short,i have train my rabbit to handle pressure and her body is very fit due to daily exercise...

i bought my rabbit from a friend's friend. at seksyen 17. she claimed her rabbit is healthy etc...

where can i find Beh & Yo? i really would like to adopt another rabbit. i stay in a condo.. i usually put my rabbit in the living in their cages n open the window so that the air circulation is ok..

my previous 2 rabbits, i trained them to recognized sound. whenever i shake my bracelet means that they will come to me n sit right in front of me.. somemore if i scold them, they will keep quiet n look at me...n will be good for the rest of the time...

oh babyying, i'm so so sorry! it isnt your fault, the breeder should have only sold u the rabbits once they are 2 months old. i was like u when i first got my little boy- had no idea about the age requirement. lucky for me the breeder (beh & yo thumbup.gif) who sold me hector was very responsible. am also lucky to have found this forum. without the advice and support of everyone at Rabbit Corner i doubt that hector and i would have made it this far. rclxms.gif

dont give up on rabbits or your parenting skills. once you are ready to get another rabbit, remember that we are all here to help you figure things out. biggrin.gif

ur unique girl.i find germs n bacteria if animals sleep beside me....or they are inside my house.... whenever i finish play with my rabbit,i make sure i wash my hands with Dettol and take bath and change new cloths..haha..

how many month? if u go back,do u have cage? does your sarawak house n family wiling accept rabbit? u need to check your airline whether they allow u fly your rabbit? or u need to transport your rabbit through animal cargo plane.....to prevent all this hassle.....i suggest u only keep rabbit next year

doubt they will have stress as not long hours like 14 hours in the plane...

Beh & Yo have plenty of NDs for you to choose from. Drop by their farm so you can see the whole "collection". one thing i have to point out about NDs are although they are really really small and cute, they are also one of the more nervous breeds.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netherland_Dwarf
Netherland Dwarfs have a reputation of being skittish, wild, and/or of poor temperament. This is a leftover stereotype from the beginnings of the breed, when temperament wasn't the best. This has changed through selective breeding, making Dwarfs a docile breed. There are always exceptions, however, and there are testy individuals out there.

Took me 6 months to bond with my ND but 1 hr to bond with my friend's HL. Having said that, once bonded, they are very very hyperactive and extremely fun to play with. they will chase after you, climb all over you, run around you, tug on your clothes for attention-the works rclxms.gif

hahahahahaha, rabbits are quite safe as long as you wash your hands before you eat. most of us at rabbit corner keep our rabbits in the house. a number even have young children living with the rabbit. i think as long as you clean after your rabbit frequently and wash your hands after playing with him/her, you're safe. especially when dealing with house rabbits cos they dont get in contact much with other animals and therefore are unlikely to bring home a contagious disease.
