You need to get a toilet and train your rabbit to poo /pee inside the toilet. Most of us do. smile.gif

Usually we don't wash the rabbit's cage/toilet twice a day la...get a litter bedding to absorb the poo smell, so you just need to clean the them like 2-3 days once.

Your rabbit is already scared when the cat tried to attack her, beware. You can put sharp steel on top, but the cat may just know the cage down and hurt your rabbit. Besides, the sharp steel may hurt yourself or your family/friends! Be careful of it...

I think you need to buy your rabbit a toilet, train her how to poo by putting all her poo/pee inside the toilet. Then you can bring her into the house...i think you have to. Its too dangerous outside, you don't want to regret later. Plus, you put outside its easy for your rabbit to kena hot sun, rain or even outsiders coming to steal your rabbit when you not at home.

Nowdays stray cats are not stupid, they can find many ways to eat your rabbit if they really hungry...please bring her in. rclxub.gif

hi kazuki85,

according to midvalley petshop, there is no such thing as rabbit toilet.he show me cat tray where it is just a normal tray.i cannot visualise how does rabbit toilet look like.i put my rabbit cage on top of shoe cabinet.the only way stray cat can climb is on top of the cage.it is quite tall.around 150cm.the rabbit cage only kena sun btw 7am to 8/9am.after that, sun will not reach to its cage anymore.

i got my rabbit since last fri.i notice each day, whenever i release it..it getting faster n faster.means it can runs so fast even with age 2 month only.as for the litter bedding,i just wash the tray beneath the cage.few minutes job only.i didnt wash the cage inside.will do once a week.

i notice the urine is yellow instead white.is it normal?the shit is like pellet.

i think my rabbit start bored in cage.it always want to come out when i near the cage.it macam dog but because it is a prey animal,i worry let it out too long...scare she stress and die....even i let her out..i have to beware no stray cats around..imagine the cat catch it so fast n run away..

my colleagu got 2 rabbit...1 boy 1 girl....she put outside...next day, only left 1 leg... the girl gone.... the cage dont have big hole...and no force entry...she dont know what had happen to it... i also puzzle... snake can go into it as their body slim...but imposible they can come out as rabbit body inside its body... i think is stray cat where it grab the rabbit out and eat....pity the rabbit.. imagine u saw 1 leg in the cage....

No toilet for rabbit? Are they kidding? They are lots of rabbit/ferret/chincilla/Guinea Pig toilets sold in all Pet Lover Center branches, Chubby Pets Garden and Pet shack to name a few. I still can't believe the crappy MV petshop would say that thing.. rclxub.gif

Here is rabbit toilets from Chubby Pets Garden : http://www.chubbypetsgarden.com/webshaper/...at.asp?catID=25
and here from Pet Shack : http://www.petshack.com.my/webshaper/store...t.asp?catID=121

See? There are lots of them.

Urine yellow and poo like pellet is perfectly normal, you can refer to the Help section in this thread's first page. You can google about rabbit information too.

Of course your rabbit gets bored, do you like to stay in a room for days without going out? You have to let your rabbit out at least one hour every few days to let it de-stress and enjoy the fresh air. You can just let her run inside your house for maximum safety, and put her back to her cage later wink.gif

For your colleagues case, thats what happen when i say you need to put your rabbit under the roof...don't say rabbit, prey animals like chickens, fishes will easily be catch and eaten by wild cats cause they are hungry like hell for no one feeds them. The longer you put your rabbit girl outside, the more dangerous it gets. The cats will do everything to eat your rabbit rather than die starving. If you still don't want to bring in your rabbit, then prepare for the worse one day...

hi kazuki85,

thanks for the hyperlink.do u put litter bedding/sand at the litter training? if not,i don think rabbit will go there n poox2.

don think i will let rabbit into my house...it will poox2 anywhere...so far i only let it come out for 10 min max..then put it back in the cage..as i scare it will stress it...
some more when it run,i catch it and touch it...that how i take care/play rabbit....

as for cat.. i have put sharp steel on top of the cage.. don think that cat able to stand on it...some more the cage is on top of shoe cabinet...i know cat can jump very high..by the time it jump on top of the cage.. God bless the cat..im sure it will yell like HELL

i already make complain to MPSJ to catch stray cat...hope it will prevent a bit..

hmm.... i buy play pan today..so that rabbit can roam more than 10min....even so..have to make sure got someone look at it..if not..stray cat wil come it and bite n eat..

from my experience they only try to escape when they are really afraid of something..
last time i had my rabbit in playpen and then while my dad was moving something heavy, he accidentally slipped the box and it fell causing huge impact and sound which caused my poor bunny to be so damn terrified he bang at the playpen as hard as he could and tried squeezing it over but was stucked in between as well. and keeps on kicks his leg trying move through

it was an awful experience for me and him sad.gif

rabbit got die in the end? u didnt end your story..u only mention 'awful experience for me n him'.

my rabbit always try escape when she in play pan.... if let her out...she is normal... always investigation mode...sniff here n there...
normal?

hi,

my rabbit 2 month girl, anggora buttery.

i gave plenty of food but it didnt finish at one time...evetually,it has self control and dont over eat.compare the story i heard from ppl, rabbit eat watever u gave them and they eat until finish.

am i wrong?

my rabbit eats and healthy...she learn quick... last week, whenever i put her into playpan (quite big), it try to squueze her body out of the iron bar...she manage 2 or 3 times..as results,i use my finger and slap the face (hard to describe) hard.i wan to beat/punish her so that she remember by escape out, means get beat up.ytd, she no longer do tat.she hop n run in the playpan.anybody punish their rabbit for disobey/naughty? to me,rabbit is like dog.must be train and beat if neccessary.

hi i just bought 3months old rabbit, she seems scared and not friendly sad.gif. I bought her pellet this morning and she refused to eat but she ate carrot i was wondering is there any specific hay brand? coz i saw this Alfafa Hay RM15 i'm not sure to buy it or not, hurmm hurmmm and how
*
b4 i bring back my 2 month rabbit.i ask midvalley petshop staff wat food they feed?they said timothy hay...according to page 1 n other rabbit site, 6 month below is alfafa, 6 month above is timothy..

to play safe, i gave my rabbit timothy, alfafa and pellet.all is bought from the shop.rabbit find it "home" if the food u gave them is from the shop where they ate b4...to cut long story short, my rabbit prefer eat timothy than alfafa.and she love pellet..

but ho... rabbit got eating time habit... they eat at certain time..maybe the time u see them eat....is not the time......it is a mistake u give them carrot..normally ppl give when it reach adult...don think she can digest properly....according to expert, it is not wise to give rabbit carrot...even we know bugs bunny eat carrot..but in reality...better give them pellet or hay...

lol so nice of her to have grass 24/7. for her poo and stuff you just wash it off to the drain with water?
*
nolah. that is her outdoor playpan..she got her own cage another side that got proper bottle water, ceramic food container,etc...... it is on top cabinet...inside cabinet got her food, car shampoo n etc..

if im at home...i put her at playpan at car porch until 3pm..then i move the playpan to my garden......at night,i bring her back to her cage... basically she has 3 types of home... cage, car porch (ceramic), garden (grass)..

I am new, and i will get a pair of rabbit this saturday...any advise ?
*
read first page and go read those blogs listed at 1st page.

make sure your cage dont have medium gap.baby rabbit able to squueze their body out of it and escape.
it happen to me.lucky, first day i got it..i put her in the room....next day morning, around 10am..found out it escape and roaming in the room by herself...took her 1 day to dare to explore n squueze her body out of the medium gap...we dont think it can escape when we bought it....so make sure u buy a cage that no snake can even go into it...

to me,cage is most important to rabbit..make sure it allows u to remove their poox2 easily...that has tray beneath it...

the rest... get the food like timoty n alfafa hay, pellet is a must... water bottle... big ceramic as can put more food..it is for future...

actually i just got my rabbit less than a month..don have experience...i just learn from daily experience....

QUOTE(decentdevil @ Aug 14 2010, 01:44 AM)
I need help ….
Recently as per my earlier post, my gf brought back another male rabbit to accommodate her old male rabbit.
As the new rabbit, which is 20% bigger in size attempt to regain his territory, it keep humping the elder rabbit.
Per forumers feedback, this is a normal behavior. We let both of them staying in the same cage hoping they could blend in and stay together.

It has been 3 weeks they were staying together in the same cage. Occasionally, I do see the bigger rabbit chase, hump or light bite on the older rabbit..
I just treated that as a sign of territory marking behavior, or playing together
Today, to my surprise, I noticed the elder rabbit’s testicle was badly bitten.. it definitely the act of the new rabbit.
We have decided to put the new rabbit into a smaller separate cage to isolate them until we find a solution …
Anyone care to shed some light on how we could resolve this problem?

We know, a visit to vet is a must, but what is next?
*
decentdevil, i watch astro csi and your old rabbit is in serious danger.
the show is showcase how come brown bear keep die mysterous with their testicle bitten off only.found out black bear did it.it is because of territory reason.for female bear, the black bear will eat them until bone left.it is the natural of animal survival.

to all who feedback me, after reading the hyperlink about discpline rabbit..i decide rabbit cant be tame or train.so far,i only beat her once that scream.the rest is like making sounds (not scream).more like she say stop, dont beat me anymore...haha...anyway, i dont enjoy beat her.
now i change strategy.the reason she can escape at garden because certain portion of the eart is uneven.she use that to drill down from play pan.wat i do is put ceramic food or water to block the uneven earth.

i start make her run round n round ...as if im predator....it is so fun to see her run for her life..i use broom to chase her.. until certain rounds...she will give up and sit down quietly and without moving her body..that time i know she is tired and finish her exercise...then i put her in the cage... i believe by making her run every day, will improve her lifespan...rather than remain in cage....

she got better life compare my neighbour dog.that dog always been chain and never let roam freely. no exercise at all.just sit ,eat, shit and sleep...looping....

oh yea...got any rabbit hotel? i need to plan earlier if i go vacation one day....any recommendation?
