Hi guys,
I have a question. What does it mean when a rabbit suddenly dashes around or flicks its head? This happens all of a sudden. He'll be hopping around and then suddenly he'll dash around for a bit. He'll also flick his head. Maybe got cacing or mites?
Also, my rabbit loves to eat pellets more than hay. I give him a mixture of timothy and alfalfa hay but he seems to prefer pellets. Is this a bad thing?
It could be your rabbit is trying to binky. They sometimes do a partial binky, apparently perfect binkies take practice.

But then again, excessive head flicking is a sign of ear mites. To be sure, you can bring him to a vet and have him checked out. My rabbit, when I first got him, had this odd habit of flicking his head from side to side so I took him to the vet to make sure he was ok. No sign of mites or fleas, he's just strange like that.

When it comes to preferring pellets over hay, it depends on their mood. There are days where my rabbit will eat nothing but pellets and there are times when he eats nothing but hay. You can limit his pellets to twice a day, so he'll have to eat his hay in between feedings. But if your rabbit is young (<6 months), I suggest to just give him an unlimited supply of both.
