1. downgrade the rim to 16" and used quiet tyre (at least 55 or 60 series...)
2. i think no solutions (dunno other car that use multilink also facing this type of prob)

Added on December 28, 2009, 1:55 pmAs for No 1, the tyre wall insulation is poor, i am hearing the hollow sound from front and back tyres, a bit annoying at times ... I am thinking of doing soundproof for the tyre wall to resolve this problem, but not sure if that will result in majoy dismantle of parts, which i am trying to avoid.

Bro, sorry if I am the one that made you started to notices all of those... I am reading on the links i given up there. Looks like if I am staying with the Forte.. I will be doing something like those.. and IF the price is within my budget.. i would do the full package to make the Forte into a Continental feels in it.

* They quoted would not void warranty.. but I am a bit skeptical on those especially is words from them.. not from the Car's manufacturer since we are the one that facing problems when claiming for warranty.

Official bodykits are not available yet in Malaysia - there are rumors that Naza will introduce new bodykit, some even gave the idea to drive down Singapore to install the body kit .

btw what color did you book for your 2.0 ?

Guys,

Yesterday, when driving my Forte, i started to notice that my 'No Fastern SeatBelt' LED in the dashboard is not ON when i didn't do so. 1st, I thought the LED is burned, so i tried out by 'Pressing the Start Engine button' without pressing the break (While the engine is OFF). That way, i saw the LED is ON for 1 sec, then OFF again. It proves the LED light is not burn. Even the driving is moving, it still no warning.

Is there any configuration need to set ? Difficult to accept that it is technical fault after driving the car only to 400km milliage in total.

the bodykit is not yet launch in Malaysia i guess.
but i did saw the flyer shown by Puchong SA.

basically the bodykit is different from SG as SG one is lower.
it include side skirt, rear skirt, and bumper skirt (is this what you call)?

they have other parts like shark fin antenna, emergency kit, hood engine cover (for EX i guess as SX already have), tinting, door visor, and one or two other things that i could not recall.


i've ask puchong and according to the technician, its like that. only shown for 6 seconds. previous kia car have the beep sound if you're not wearing sealtbelt. but not for newer car release. thats what was being told to me.

Sooner or later, we have to face the facts of what is true! As a driver, the insulation is pretty good, same goes with front passenger. Its just the back seat passenger. The back wheels contact with road is pretty audible.

I'm also looking into autofoam.com.my. But only sound proofing certain parts. Around the front and rear wheels, and also boot. Forte's wind and engine sound is pretty excellent I would say..

To solve the intrusive feeling when going thru pot holes, I was thinking to detune our CTBA to non-sporty settings (all SX suspension is tuned to sport; EX do not have sport tuned suspension), it will sacrifice the handling of the car. Most likely don't want to go that way. Another option, is to switch to more comfort oriented tyres, sacrifice performance.. well.. most of the time I don't drive above 120 km/h. I won't feel much impact if I were to change to non-performance tyre..

Hi Bro, thanks a lot for the info ... actually the soundproof for other areas of Forte is good enough just the tyre wall or wheel aches, so Yang Package (RM450) looks attractive and might solve the hollow tyre sound and I dont think it will void the warranty cos only the wheel arches and nothing need to be dismantled
