here's a little quote from astro
QUOTE Q: Does the High-Definition service support surround sound? A: Only certain High-Definition channels and programmes will be available in surround sound and compatible to Dolby Digital. Customers may need to connect the digital audio output from the box directly to their home theatre system that has a Dolby digital box. imagine hooking up the stb to the tv with hdmi (does it carry video&audio or video only?)...your mom was watching a hd show with DD5.1 (does astro support DD5.1 or just marketing gimmick about surround sound?).....then she complain:"why this channel no sound?" do you think the stb support downmix of DD? For me the RM20 is a good deal, but my parents are hard to be convinced paying 20 bucks more for 3 better looking channels (only 3 since I don't subscribe to sports package). Looks like I'll be waiting until they launched more channels, hopefully on Movies package.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Dec 11 2009, 04:00 PM) Its not just RM20. you have to pay extra for the 3 HD channels also. or 5 HD channels if you subscribe to all What extra? Its only RM20 on top of your current subscription to get HD channles. Which channel you will get depend on what you subscribe. If let say for me its movies and learning so I will only get HBO, NatGeog and History. No other extra charges other than the RM20 per month on top of current subscription. This post has been edited by exentric_nova: Dec 11 2009, 04:05 PM |

I think as Astro has more HD channel, they will charge more. Hopefully they won't do that. |

I wonder what other video output the decoder has.
Now, I can change channel from my bedroom. I doubt I can do that on this decoder. |
