I just called Astro to enquire about Astro B.yond. Looks like for other channel without HD will be in aspect ratio of 4:3, so other than the listed channel with HD, you will still see "fat" people. But the Astro facebook mentioned that all will be in 16:9. rclxub.gif

According to the customer service, Astro B.yond doesn't have the recording function yet like astro max. And I also surprised to know that if you are Astro Max subscriber, you can't swap your decoder and dish for this Astro B.yond. [may be i understood wrongly]

They will swap your decoder and dish with installation fee of RM80

But you will need to add RM20/month for the subscription

They will stretch 4:3 broadcast to fit the 16:9 TV.

For me the RM20 is a good deal, but my parents are hard to be convinced paying 20 bucks more for 3 better looking channels (only 3 since I don't subscribe to sports package). Looks like I'll be waiting until they launched more channels, hopefully on Movies package.

Me too, especially when I can't record the show, my kids will virtually kill me if I change now. blush.gif

Its not just RM20. you have to pay extra for the 3 HD channels also. or 5 HD channels if you subscribe to all

For me, I will only benefit from HBO HD, since I am not subscribing to the others...kinda lose out here if
change now. Just a feeling.

What extra? Its only RM20 on top of your current subscription to get HD channles. Which channel you will get depend on what you subscribe. If let say for me its movies and learning so I will only get HBO, NatGeog and History. No other extra charges other than the RM20 per month on top of current subscription.

I think as Astro has more HD channel, they will charge more. Hopefully they won't do that. hmm.gif

Yeah thats what I've been thinking. Afraid that the RM20 is only an early bird promotion. After more channels introduced, Astro will go crazy with their prices.
Yeah I know. Currently going through it  blush.gif

Astro will be doing so brows.gif at the back when most of the people sign up with them. tongue.gif
