the reason to tear off cricket legs is becoz at times, cricket legs could tangle to ur arowana.s mouth and their legs had spike,and the tiny little spike could hurt ur aro, giving them a scratch..so the best to feed ur aro with cricket is pulling off it's leg and crush it's head
why crush it head..since ur aro is still small..they cant wholly swallow up the cricket..unless a much bigger aro could swallow it in one go..so SOMETIMES, ur juvenile aro couldnt swallow it all, the cricket will at chances tries to bite ur aro as self defense, hence will causes injury to ur juvenile aro..
Some sifu tot me this..as a precaution if ur aro is still a juvenile..crush cricket head, and pull of it's leg..safer..

i already tried to give my tiny aro a small size cricket...and it ate it...looks like my aro very like the cricket so much...i gave 3 crickets just now...i am going to feed it 3 times per day, 3 crickets per meal

i personally wont use any chemicals to clear algae :s

to me algae growing means water is healthy and its cycling + algae actually is beneficial lol...they eat up nitrates and nitrites

just that its ugly looking

just get a fei fong / pleco and algae problem is solved xD

yea, the legs should be removed and 2.5inch? feed bloddworm or mw better... i rmb my aro when he was 4in sw oso quite hard to swallow

sorry...i got a big of phobia with these crickets and cockroaches ....cuz when i young...i travelled to school...one morning blurr blurr just put on my shoe and rush to school....

i felt some kinda thing in my left shoe at the toe...like...seemed to be a bit prickly...then i just like wateva tot it was some grass is ok wan...since i rushing so i just can take it out later when i reach school first....then ar...it felt a bit cold and wet when i reach school ...at my toes i feel like...getting worse and worse...more slimy =.="
