As stated from the title, this is a topic for people using WhatsApp messenger and prefer it more to PING!
Unlike Ping! which u could ping anyone just by knowing their usernames, WhatsApp Messenger synchronises with ur phonebook to check anyone who is using the App as well and no add is required! So it means that you can only text people in ur phonebook who uses the application. Well basically this has both Pros n Cons and it is beneficial for someone who wants more privacy and doesn't want to get texted by random people, and its more troublesome cause you would have to get ur fren's number and add him/her into ur phonebook in order to text him/her. There's another good thing as well, which is you could update ur status for people to see and you can know when's the last time someone logged in their whatsapp.
In the Ping! thread, I've noticed quite a lot of ppl uses whatsapp as well so I might as well open a new thread specifically about it. Previously, some ppl could register their number and some ppl can't because the app itself says it's not available in Malaysia, but I think one of our forum members found a definite way to get the app to work in Malaysia.

Had faced the same problem as u do for 3 weeks after I downloaded WhatsApp. Only today then I figured out the clue to make it worked.
Check did u key in ur phone number in ur iPhone by checking on Settings > Phone > My Number . If the field is empty, then key in ur phone number then register WhatsApp again. I got mine to work with this trick. Hopefully it works for u too.
P/s: According to one of the forumer that emailed WhatsApp team, they mentioned that up coming v2.3 will officially support Malaysia telco.

WhatsApp Messenger is still free at the moment, so guys, get it while it's free!! It's really an amazing app and so far I haven't experienced any crashes at all!
