QUOTE(ahcheap @ Dec 28 2009, 09:52 AM) Kindly be informed that the current UPGRADE INCENTIVE PACKAGE, will be extended until further notice . At last the promotions extended... perhaps TM Net should noted to perform upgrade to their customer, for pricing adjustment.... except for customer upgrading to have more or less speed. Those people with same speed should noted with 24month contract and agree with, else they also discriminate too... |

QUOTE(kokhoe @ Dec 28 2009, 12:40 AM) u dint sign any form for upgrade dint u ? then u r not suppose to be chargeble . but if it is true 2mb . FREE UPGRADE I just went back from TM. The deal is really shit.... It seem like TM is forcing us old user to accept a further 2 year deal. Imagine that we old user paying RM88 Streamyx 1Mbps + RM26 for rental. Then you see the combo package, its just RM120 inclusive of the phone line rental. Added on December 28, 2009, 3:55 pm QUOTE(mylinear @ Dec 22 2009, 10:13 PM) I think what vergas is asking is this. I do not think that TM cap you by your username/account. If they really implement this, why are they capping you via port?If he has a 2048 port and a 512 account, max he gets is 0.5. Because his account is capped at 512. But with a 2048 port and a 1Mb account, his account should be capped at 1Mb. So he should be getting 0.8-0.9 max. But why can he get 1.1-1.3 or even 1.5? Is it because his 1Mb account is not capped? Added on December 22, 2009, 10:18 pm Sorry, I think in my earlier reply, I mixed you up with vergas . If your port is at 1024, you will get approx 0.8-0.9 only. I am not sure if they will change your port. I am trying to find that out also at this time. If they cap you wrongly, then you get free upgrade. Simple as that. Like many of us, older subscribers, we do have 1.5mbps port with a 1mbps acc. We did get between 1.3mbps~1.5mbps depending on your online time. Right now Im still on 1mbps package, but my port get wrongly cap to 2mbps after they did some hardware change. When I was on 1.5mbps port, my max http download is about 150kB/s and now on 2mbps port gets about 210kB/s. However, looking back at the Sreamyx promotion form, I realise that 2mbps is gonna be norm nowadays unless you really unwilling to pay the difference. RM88 1mbps package + RM26 rental already cost you RM114/month. Add RM6 and you get 2mbps combo which includes free phone line rental. The problem is the 24months contract that might come in handy for TM should they really implement price reduction soon. This post has been edited by Darren: Dec 28 2009, 03:55 PM |

There is a cap based on account / username. The reason this was implemented was because otherwise users were asking the technicians to give them a higher port speed. With the account cap, that is not possible. Unless your account was not capped for some reason. Also a 512K account with a 1024 port can only get 512K speeds due to the account cap. If there was no account cap, then the speed should be able to go up to 1Mb due to the higher port speed. Because 1Mb can now be considered to be at RM71 and plus RM25 phone rental = RM96. Those paying RM88 are actually over-paying which is why everyone should complain. Or wait and see if there is a price reduction early next year. |
