QUOTE(redbull_y2k @ Jul 30 2006, 02:33 PM) Erm, not really. If u checkout our local shops, there's a new Samsung Slimfit widescreen crt model which is the, WS-32Z40HN. Comes with HDMI, usb port and finally support for 720p/1080i in NTSC, priced at RM2988. Samsung, IINM causes lag in games because of it's DNIe Technology. Refer to post #566 for more info.Link to WS-32Z40HN Unless you're sure you can turn off the DNIe (old model can't turn off, not sure about new model) then better avoid Samsung. |

QUOTE(mzaidi @ Jul 30 2006, 02:47 PM) Samsung, IINM causes lag in games because of it's DNIe Technology. Refer to post #566 for more info. Yes i know that, so do take note on this quote. Unless you're sure you can turn off the DNIe (old model can't turn off, not sure about new model) then better avoid Samsung. QUOTE As we mentioned earlier, some HDTVs are better at scaling and generating lag-free videogaming than others. While there can't be any hard and fast rules, HD-CRTs are generally credited with producing the least amount of lag, while DLP-based HDTVs (Samsungs in particular thanks to DNIe image enhancement) are often considered the worst. Of course, we've read a number of reports of laggy LCDs and plasma displays as well, which means that no HDTV technology is truly safe. Safest bet to avoid the lag if the image enhancement can't be turned off is to just use the display's native resolution, in this case, for CRTs, use 1080i. |

QUOTE(eone @ Aug 4 2006, 01:01 PM) The samsung LCD tv available here seems like a downgrade version of USA. If you go to the samsung website, You will see in USA the LCD TV has a better contrast ratio and more mega pixel. By the way, HDMI 1.3 is gonna release..... |

After spending much time scouring this thread, i'm now HD literate..
Listed below are my choices for crt hdtv: 1. Philips 29PT9421 (i'm putting it @ no.1 coz my main use for the tv is for watching tv n dvd movie..i don't hv astro but the s'pore channels are already broadcasting digitally n currently they're testing HD broadcasting, the PQ is superior than our local stations) 2. Sony KVDB29M61 - "it's a Sony"..need i say more.. currently price @RM1.5k..trying very hard to resist Sony..but may be prove futile to resist 3. Samsung CS29Z30MQ - it's PQ is quite impressive but found out in this forum that ssung might hv problems. I think this is the latest model so i still can't find the specs. Currently priced @ RM1,730. Other brands that could be consider is Toshiba n JVC, their lastest model can really compete with Sony and don't forget Sharp.. i've seen the normal 100hz Sharp model side by side with the Pana Giga 800Series.. guess what..the sharp PQ wins hands down! |
