Just bought a Sharp 32BX LCD. When trying to connect to my PC using VGA, should i Should i set it as "Analogue Monitor" or "HDTV". Choosing either one will give me different setting option in my TV:
1) Analogue Monitor: I can set it at 1360x768/60hz with full screen with good picture qauality. But under PC setting in the tv lots of option grey out, like color, tint and sharper and i cant adjust any of it. Text is sharp and readable.
2) HDTV: I set it to 720P with 1360x768, but on the tv screen can only display 1280x720 with 70hz and there is black bar at the sides, 1360x768 option in the tv is not selectable. When i use the tv stretch function everything is stretch. No problem with DVD but picture quality not as good compare to "Analogue Monitor" mode.
So i would like to know which mode u guys using and what is the resolution u can get, even though u may be using a different brand and model.
Millions thanks...

QUOTE(eone @ Oct 20 2006, 02:41 PM) Samsung LA32T51Byep 1360x768... and DVI only can support 1280x768 So do u manage to adjust some advance setting when u set it as analog monitor? Have u compare analog monitor mode 1360x768 with hdtv mode 1280x768? And which one has a better quality. for text i have tried and 1360 looks better, but cant tell the difference when playing DVD.

Just bought a Sharp 32BX6. Got a dead pixel when switch to blue screen, but i can bare with it. The problem is that it has some backlight leakage along the left side of the panel about 2 inch wide. Its hardly noticable during bright scene, but quite obvious when dark scene. Even worst some times the left side will show slitly red or green in dark scene. I have to turn down the brightness to make it barable.
So do u think Sharp will exchange another unit for me? Or anybody else has this problem, even if your model is not the same as mine. Heard that the new Sony X-Series has even worst backlight leakage.

QUOTE(redken @ Dec 16 2006, 11:58 PM) Samsung of course. Firstly, it has gorgeous looks (could help u persuade ur wife u are not wasting ur finance meaninglessly), second of course the SPVA panels. As for me i am contented with this set already, because technologies come and go so fast. By the time i feel the LG's mediocrity, it's probably time to move on to the next big thing. tong1774: i was asking the salesman about his views regarding the Sharp Aquos, he shook his head, then he say, " Better dun la." LOL. Ok. I will take his word for it. No offence to other Sharp owners. I saw the Sharp GA5 before and honestly the PQ is better then any of the Sony series, including the latest X-series. But its hard to find the GA series in Malaysia and the price is almost the same with the Sony X-series. So if i have the money to burn, i will get the GA before other LCD TV. But of course if budget is not an issue, i will get the Pioneer Plasma and wont bother about the burn-in issue. The BX is a low-end series from Sharp, and thats why i can afford it. Beside the backlight leakage problem, i am quite happy with the Sharp. Samsung and LG is a no no to me, as i have bad experience with their QC. Just my own experience though...

QUOTE(htkaki @ Dec 26 2006, 09:39 PM) Bro munky, I do hope that too but unlikely to happen in near future. *sigh* Astro may be can impliment that in the near future like in 5 years time. But RTM may take 10 or even longer. I still remember 12 years ago when every other tv stations in Malaysia are using Digital Beta and RTM are still using the ancient 1 inch tape.

QUOTE(hackinz @ Jan 28 2007, 07:38 PM) Well, I have yet receive it. Just wanna clarify, if you read my previous post, I am getting Toshiba 42" with bulk order from friend with less than RM5000 and not from HSL. HSL is selling around RM7800.00 (you might get better deal if you search harder). I've watch this tv with demo replay and astro channels from electronic shops and visually I'm very satisfy. FYI, if price is not a problem to me, I'll opt for Sony Bravia Series instead cuz they have better picture quality. Wow is your friend an insider? If RM5000 for the 42" i also want le... even though i already has a Sharp 32". But bigger is always better, well most of the time.

QUOTE(cyclonekid @ Jan 29 2007, 10:14 AM) Thanks If I want something that supports 1080p what is the cheapest HDTV model? How much will it cost? a branded 37" 1080P lcd is going to cost 2 to 3 times more than your budget. The cheapest one may be this "Amoi" brand from china, and i heard that the quality is actually not bad. The only thing is that the tv frame is a tad too thick, and they add a layer of glass infront of the panel to protect it, and now its as reflective as crt and plasma. Not sure if u can remove it though...

QUOTE(cyclonekid @ Jan 29 2007, 12:38 PM) There got one panasonic 1080p 42' for around 8k The 42" which isn't 1366x768 already cost RM8k, so a 1080P for that price is impossible, at least for this coming 6 months. Added on January 29, 2007, 2:36 pmQUOTE(hackinz @ Jan 29 2007, 01:24 PM) My friend's company got a construction project for hotels and purchasing TV is one of the bulk order item. That is why the price could come down so low. The order has close for now (previously I only got 1 day to decide ). My friend did mention there might be second bulk order but not firm with da decision. Will PM ya if I have any update Please do. Thank you...
