I saw Sony W series yesterday in lowyat....

It stated full HD.

The price for 40 inch was rm9,999.00

almost half of the price for X series....

But I dont know about the picture quality yet as they just put on the machine but havent put any video to play on it yet.

And also the panasonic TX-37LZ75(japan model) supports Full HD. I wonder if TX-37LX75 supports Full HD or not.

When the Full HD panel price is getting more 'affordable', expect to see crashing price of norm HD panel (720p). Then, it might be phased out due to profitability issue.

XBox 360 can really output 1080p picture? I remember reading a mag months ago that the reviewer tried all sort of ways to churn out 1080p but the best it could get is 1080i. Correct me if I am wrong abt it. Tks

If 1080p is going mainstream, this would mean 720p is going to perish. Somewhere in the horizon awaits a new tech. So get ur wallet ready. New tech here i come.

After reading your comment, i went n check our Sonystyle website n true enough it's already available. Prices are not bad for the 1080p range. hmm.gif
40" KLV-40W300A - RM9,999
46" KLV-46W300A - RM13,999
52" KLV-52W300A - RM21,999

@htkaki : The Xbox360 can output 1080p and a few games supports native 1080p such as Virtua Tennis 3 and NBA Street Homecourt. nod.gif

Saw a new Sony Bravia today, KLV-40W300A retailed at 9,999.00. Is it better than the X version which retails at 15k++ for the same size?

I assume that since the contrast for W is 16k compared to 7k for the X.

The design is the same as V series. I checked the avsforum websites and they are raving on this W series due to PQ and pricing.

the sony W300A series in Malaysia equals to the sony V5000 series in Japan... the W5000series in Japan has bravia pro and 120Hz tech..(which I think W300A lacks)

the old, X200A series still use 8bit panels... but have the bravia pro engine which W300A lacks but..it has the new 10bit panel and XMB menu style.

probably a new Xseries... X300A (orX500A) have the 10bit panel 120Hz... better contrast ratio

There is another D300A series... which i think equals to the v3000 series.. which have only 2 HDMI inputs..

all mentioned series are all 1080p panels

The D300A had 3 HDMI inputs but is not a 1080p panel. nod.gif
