I've just auditioned the new 47" Toshiba Regza 1080p. The size is awesome, same goes for the quality. I mean 1080 would be a waste on smaller TV's.

Feeling curious, i asked the saleperson, "Wat are u running under that, man." He told me HARDDISK, i LOL'ed hard, the local scenes are sure catching up.

The best is yet to come, the price is only RM14999, and that's a price from one of the higher price store chain. I bet u can find it at basement price of RM13999 somewhere.

hmm i don't know where else to post this, but do you guys know good place to get hd-dvds /blu-ray discs?

I usually get em for amazon but shipping sometimes gets a bit pricey for priority shipping.. I do not use other shipping methods because i've had a few items lost before (stupid malaysian post)

so any ideas?

Even if u r getting the blueray/hd-dvd disc here, it would be priced similar with your total cost ordered from amazon. U can try 1 dvd shop closed by with Gamers Hideout, .

By the way, why not trying getting the high end upconvert dvd player like denon..at least u can utilize your 1080p resolution with your current dvd...

Thanks

i actually got the sony upscaling player.. but after watching iceage meltdown on Bluray, even my wife who has no interest in this gadget stuff, cannot believe her eyes.. My problem is the current format wars, as far as I am concerned there are many movies that I like on both formats and I heard Lotr will be out on HD-DVD whilst Star wars on bluray maybe sad.gif at least Matrix is going to be easy because of warner's new format

720p/1080i

it upconverts my VCDs and my divx files also

its great watching the d'led tv series upscaled

Yeah from amazon if i order one DISC the delivery charge for priority is more than the disc and amazon's "group together" thing doesn't work really well.. not much of a discount :/

two discs will cost me upward of 70usd

Yeah it really does make a difference.. its not really HD but makes your dvds acceptable.. previously using my old dvd player on my tv makes the dvd look almost like vcd quality... personally i think an upscaling dvd player is a must for now as bluray and/or hddvd discs are not easily attainable..

rally tat good? how much does one of those upscaler cost?

i just recently use the component cables for my dvd player, i think it looks quite fine to me with progressive running, so does the upscaler means it can even bring the image to a better state?

I am planning to order a couple of blurays, if you are interested, I can add your title to my order and we can split the 'per shipment' cost of the priority shipping courier. Better still if I can find any others to split the cost further.

On receipt I can COD to you anywhere in KL.

Btw will send my order before the end of this week.

Guys, got a question and hoping someone could shed some light to it. I got a Samsung LA32R71B. So 1080p is out for me. I got myself a Monster Component Cable for my PS3. Would you guys suggest I stick with the Monster cable or get a HDMI cable (actually I got one free, but think its a cheapo cable with no packaging whatsoever) Any advice? Thanks.
