erk.. iphone already got GPS.. and NO iphone can't pair with any other bluetooth device except the earphone.

I'm pretty sure he knows GPS availability in iPhone. However, pairing with external GPS receiver is a common practice with other phone and app like Garmin. Main advantage is battery preservation of the phone

Yes it can do that....it solely depends on your map actually.

will iphone4 get heated when using gps app like iphone 3g or iphone 3gs?
*
It gets slightly warmer then when not in use but it runs much cooler than iphone 3GS, i believe its due to the ip4 screen is using LED backlight (cooler) compared to 3GS cathode backlight which runs hotter n consume more battery power.

There's a function for address search but no option like house number like the one in Garmin

The Map. Papago utilising Malfreemaps, Malaysian local mappers community.

I'm not pretty sure, but i think all GPS phone will heat up. It's not the fault of the phone but the GPS chipset.

If Papago uses Malfreemaps, what does Tonton use?

Wanted to purchase PaPaGo M7 Pro as it's on discount now but after reading through the reviews on the app store it made me think twice.

Tele Atlas and Mappoint Asia. In terms of POI database and detailed maps, Mfm wins hands down. You can't beat local on their own turf.

There are three different cases:

1. Someone who JB the phone and then blame PPG for not working. Bear in mind, there are some who JB the phone but PPG still working. Guess the method play its part.

2. Someone with iPhone 3G and having lots of problem with PPG. I guess Maction needs to clarify whether 3G hardware is sufficient for PPG or not.

3. Someone who never had the experience of using GPS and try to get the first cold start in a house and then posting to iTunes blaming PPG as super suck app without knowing he had officially declared himself as the Most Foolish Person on the planet.

I'm using PPG since the earliest version which is M6 until now on both iPhone 3GS and 4 WITHOUT any locking issue at all. In fact, with location services on, cold start in building will take less than 5 secs.

PPG do have problems like UI lagginess and out of position at corner, but its map database has convinced me enough this is the one for iPhone. If Garmin wish to enter the foray of iPhone, that will be a different story.

I just took the plunge and got Papago M7 and noticed its using Malfree 100415. Doesn't that mean its from April 15 2010 ? Don't we have any newer updated maps? ... Is it even possible to update them manually?

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Guess the best way to try it is to buy and try it yourself. biggrin.gif

Will give it a go and see how it fairs out for me. Thx!

I don't see a way of updating the maps. At least not when running IOS 4.1. Still using the 100415 version that comes default with Papago M7 Pro.
