Well, do think twice if you are taking a harbour cruise to see scenery, coz IMHO, if you are at Avenue of Star, you get to see the HK island side, and if you are at the Golden Bauhinia Square, then can look over to TST side liao lor...what for need a harbour cruise?
IMO, if you are just interested for a feel of taking the ferry, then just take it as a mean of transport, as I've mentioned.
I've also taken the ferry on return from the Peak at night. As bus no. 15C from Garden Road peak tram terminal has a stop at Central's Star Ferry terminal, it is easy to just take the Star Ferry across from Central back to TST. Get to enjoy the night scenery as well..
