Just to share abit for those ppl who intend to get a simcard to use for internet.

There are over 9000 PCCW Wifi hotspots. To get free wifi , use your mobile phone and roam on PCCW network . Dial *166# to get the log in password. The log in ID valid for 7 days. After 7 days, dial again to get another one for another 7 days.

PCCW hotspots are every where. At least at every 7-11 .
*
This is nice info. Noted in my itinerary.

What's your actual budget then?

For the ferry from Macau > HK, is it possible to buy the ferry tix at a specific time but board the earlier time?

For example, I bought 5pm but board the 4pm ship:)

I walked from Central MRT to LKF also quite tiring.

If more people, just get a cab and split. Much cheaper.

what so special about LKF?

just pubs/clubs street only rite? besides that got what else?
*
It's not only pubs/clubs. It's much much better than KL nightlife.

QUOTE(Mercedes @ Sep 20 2011, 02:30 PM)
Supposed to go to Jumbo Floating Restaurant for either lunch or dinner but if it is not worth going, whether for food or otherwise, then maybe we will replace it with Manchester United Restaurant Bar.  Anyone been there?
*
I skipped that because it's very very expensive from the internet. Plus the transportation to reach there is a hassle for me.

But well, it's once in a lifetime

My proposed itinerary for 6D5N HongKong/Macau :-
Date 01/10 - 06/10 ( 10 more days to fly  smile.gif )

Day 1 - KUL-HKG
Arrive HK at 11.10am
depart to hostel and check in at 12pm
( what can i do from 1pm - 4pm ?? )
4pm heading to the peak, madam tussauds, sky terrance
8pm - 11pm ( any place recommend? )
If possible, swap the 4pm and 8pm activities. The view at night from Peak is nicer.

Day 2
10am - 6pm Lantau island, aberdeen, citygate outlets shopping
7pm - 8pm clock tower, 1881 heritage
8pm - 11pm temple street, ladies street ... etc

Day 3
Depart to Macau by turbojet ( whole day in Macau )

Day 4
Disneyland ( whole day )
Stay until 10.30pm cause there's another halloween parade around 9.30pm

Day 5
10am - 1pm Che gong temple, wong tai sin, chi lin, snoopy world
1pm - 6pm stanley market, murray house, repulse bay
7pm - 10pm lan kwai fong, SoHo street ( any recommend at Central or causeway bay )

Day 6
Shopping half day then Depart to airport

Any suggestion??

will it too late if depart at 6pm to the peak ??
any activity recommend ??
*
4pm activity you might want to have some dessert or go window shopping.

I went up around 7+ and reached Sky Terrace to catch the Symphony of Lights before it started.

Btw, if you want some shopping spree, go to Citygate @ Tung Chung as the clothing at there is very very cheap. I bought 6-7 pieces of Polo RL for around less than HKD2,000 before discount.

citygate is the most cheapest complex ??

From what I searched throughout my trip.

Citygate is basically a somewhat factory outlet shopping complex. Nike selling the football jersey(sale) for like Rm120 at there.

Get the tix before the date you go to those places. We skipped the whole queue for NP360 because we bought it early from travel agency. Same goes to other attraction places.

There's two type of queue. One to purchase ticket and one for the cabin.

AA sale period is for travelling on May, June July, August September and October. Out of this six months, June to September is super hot and humid month! Even hotter than Malaysia. and rain pretty often lor. Gotta planyour trip carefully!!
*
It depends much on the luck. The forecast shows 13-18 Sept will be raining and thunderstorm but it never happen. The weather is hot as at KL

I went there during non-holiday friday and yet I queued for 45minutes for the photo session. So holiday no need see liao unless you reach there before it opens smile.gif

WALK FROM THE PEAK TO LAN KWAI FONG?

I would salute anyone one who walk from The Peak Tram Station (downhill) to Central and if you walk from The Peak to Lan Kwai Fong, PLEASE SHARE THE EXPERIENCE after you got back.
go and google the distance....i took mrt to central, die die also need to walk to tram station, when the way back die die also need to walk back to central take mrt back....

the peak to the central mrt just like few minute away....
*

[/quote]
Bus would be better option. Not all prefer to walk that distance.

Cab need 5 minutes from Peak to Central station. So walking would be around appx 1* minutes.

Its the opposite for us.. we speak canto and dress normally, cab follow meter.. the smart business suit ang moh go and hail our cab in a (non-pick up zone at HK MTR) kena conned $100 for short ride.. ours was only $62 from Tin Hau MTR to HK MTR, downtown, 7pm in wet weather
*
Same like my case. A taxi driver offered HKD100 for a short ride to Central from Tram Station which actually only cost HKD20.

QUOTE(b37a @ Sep 22 2011, 12:34 AM)
u mean to the top of the peak or just the tram station to go to the peak?

if it's just the tram station then just exit at central HSBC exit and cut through the building, go to the other side, cross a road, walk abit uphill n reach d.

last time i walked faster than taking bus lol
*
Oops. Forgot to mention it's tram station. It's the uphill that I dislike about laugh.gif

ystd booked 11th to 14th Sept 2012 to HK and Macau.

Suppose to make it 5d 4n but due to the expensive return it became 4d 3n.

Hope its not too rush.

Is the weather ok? how about sales? lol
*
My HK trip was 13-19 Sept.
So the weather should be around ~28-32 celcius.
The cheap perfume and cosmetics can be found in Bonjour shop in HK.
Sales should be autumn sales but only available at Sogo.

got rain?

ic ic.. mind sharing ur itenary and hotel stay?
hotel roughly needs rm300 per nite wow~
*
Forecast stated cloudy and thunderstorm but none happen when I was there. It was sunny.

My itinerary is very rush de wor. Everyday wake up around 7am and sleep at 1 or 2 am due to the tight schedule. If you don't mind , I can send it to you.

If you want cheap hotel rates, can try to find at Agoda or Latestay. My 6 nights at HK/Macau only cost us appx Rm800/pax. I stayed in Hotel Emperor, Macau and Hotel Empire Causeway Bay, HK.

walao, ur 6nights = rush and my 3nights = cant make it at all

After reading and i find my 4d 3n definitely not enough.
Initial plan,

Day 1 - Arrived MAcau in the morning then gonna spend it in Macau.
Day 2 - Wake up early for breakfast then leave macau to HK around 10pm. Mostly will be Wax, the symphony of lights then peak then LKF.
Day 3 - Disneyland / shopping around at night.
Day 4 - Ocean park / Shopping and leave to airport around 9pm biggrin.gif

Should i just make it Macau one day without spending a night there?
*
For Macau, nothing much except for casino visiting/gamble and also their must try food and also their landmark places.

I rather spend more time on HK cause their food specialty is much more compared to Macau.

Add : Certain casino in Macau have performance. Some are 3D.

So i couldnt squeeze it b4 the light show. Hmmm possible to rush over after the light show then the peak then LKF?
*
Possible geh as the Symphony of Lights is only around 10 minutes. After that ,rush to the station and get to Central MRT.

Sky Terrace opens until 11pm while the tram station closes at midnight. As for the Madame Tussauds, it's advisable to go in around 9pm. They start to close around 9.45pm.

so 45mins should be able to cover it?

Another thing is that do they have midnite charge for taxis there?
*
Basically yes. That's my time to finish the Madame Tussauds including taking picture w/ every wax figures smile.gif

QUOTE(Ami Tsun @ Sep 22 2011, 02:14 PM)
Well, the one that got 1st class treastment in HK nowadays are the China tourists!  They don't even have to wear nice branded shirt and speak mat salleh english for that.  Seems like it is Ok if the HK shopkeepers do not speak English, but must know how to speak Mandarin!  After 1997, the China tourists are treated like Emperor/God/Goddess coz of their strong buying power.  Ironically, people go to Mainland to buy fake branded goods but the mainlanders go over to HK to buy the real branded goods!
*
They purchase stuff like never ending money. If you look at how some of them "throw" money at casino, that's even worse than buying stuff.

QUOTE(mugenz @ Sep 22 2011, 03:29 PM)
Then besides that,

Any places of visit that is a must go?

Really limited time.
About shatin roasted pigeon. izzit very far? lol
*
Far or not is depending on where you stay smile.gif
I didn't go to Shatin for roasted pigeon. Went to Lei Garden Restaurant instead nod.gif
If you go to Shatin, you might wanna drop by Wong Tai Sin temple for a visit.

HK there's nothing much places to visit except those "char chan teng" visited by celebrities.
