Just got back from HK like 4 hours ago.

It was exceptionally cold this year, since I was also there in December last year. My skin is dry and red spots are popping up. Any remedies?

But the holiday was good smile.gif

Put more Aloe Vera Lotion to pamper your skin?

Well last year I could walk at Avenue of Stars with just my shirt. This year I needed my jacket, zipped up and still feel cold. It's the strong wind I guess. The temperature will drop until next Monday before it rebounds. Just take care of your skin smile.gif

cant be 100% sure. coz 17-18th december I was there, and its was 10-14 degrees. then 20th it was like 20 degrees. so much difference.
so may as well just bring a warm jacket.

Winter in HKG not as cold as in 2008. Just nice. Not too bad.

Christmas decor improved a lot compared to last year.

Any info needed on HKG, do PM me. Cheers!

One of the most interested hostel I have ever ventured is in Hong Kong.
I stayed at a Martial Arts Association cum hostel at Mirador Mansion, Nathan Road for less than RM30 per night. Though it was kind of rowdy, but for a guy, I thought it was acceptable.

Not that recommended for female traveller, I must admit.

hi,im planning to hong kong this coming february..
i have booking airasia tickets on 5th february to 9th february

since im not going with travel agent and this is my 1st vacation to hong kong,i would like to know which place is must to visit and which hotel is cheap and of course, best quality smile.gif

i have found these hotels that are suitable with my pocket smile.gif and i would like you guys to tell me atractive place around these hotels..

1. Anne Black Guest House - YWCA
Hong Kong
5 Man Fuk Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong

2. Harbour Plaza,
18 Tin Yan Road, Tin Shui Wai, New Territories, Hong Kong
i am a muslim so i would like to know muslim restaraunt around the hotels i've listed above.
and oh,i love to shopping so please let me know any shopping street(day or night) along with their adress okay? big thanks! biggrin.gif
*
I will recommend you to stay at Anne Black Guest House 'coz it's far more convenient than the Harbour Plaza in Tin Shui Wai. Anne Black is located in Yau Ma Tei, which is very close (walking distance to shopping areas like Mongkok & Jordan, can even walk to Tsim Sha Tsui).

You can browse through my facebook page, I remember I've put a list of halal restaurants there and shopping info. Cheers~

Hi

It's me again thanks to all of you for your replya and advice. I would like to buy Master So (feng Shui Master) book for 2010 in English and his video if available. Can I find them in any book shop and are book shops commonly found anywhere in hong kong or have to go to a specific place

Thanks
*
Sorry for the late reply... I hope you haven't started your trip... You can get the So Man Fung 2010 fortune-telling book in any 7-11 or OK convenience stores. Or any book shops like Commercial Publisher, Joint Publisher, Page One...etc.

QUOTE(-XIII- @ Dec 7 2009, 08:52 PM)
thanks! am reading it right now... tongue.gif

Even worst, sure alot of places renovating for CNY light... sad.gif

I have one question, I'm thinking to go to one of the theme park in HK, either Disneyland or Ocean Park. At first I'm planning to go to Disneyland because of the christmas lights, but after knowing the christmas lights is only from november until 3rd of jan, kinda potong stim already..lol But still, I would like to hear you guy's opinion about it... smile.gif
*
It depends on what kind of rides you like. If you prefer thrill rides, choose Ocean Park. If you prefer fancy rides, shows & tale-like environment, choose Disneyland...

Aloe Vera gel is the best remedy~ Weather in Dec is not stable yet, sometimes cold sometimes very warm, so you're lucky to have a cold trip here~

Any suggestion for roast pigeon in Hong Kong?

I've been checking this thread and also google. Found these 3:-

1) Lung Wah Hotel http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=1981

2) Shatin Chicken Congee http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=17802

3) Rivervine Keung Seafood Restaurant
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=2910

At 1st i thought of going to Lung Wah in Shatin but seems like alot of negative comments (eg: bad service, too oily, not as good as before).

I heard Tai Wai area got better roast pigeon restaurant. Any recommendation? This "Shatin Chicken Congee" is in Tai Wai. Any comments?

Thanks in advance.

The easiest way to Kowloon Station is by Airport Express, but it's not the cheapest way to go to Kowloon area.

Metropark Kowloon is not bad, with convenient location to the shopping area in Mongkok & walking distance to Prince Edward MTR station.

I think you could try the Shatin Chicken Congee instead of Lung Wah, 'coz I also heard people said their quality is getting worse... I can't recommend a good one 'coz myself is not quite fond of pigeon... sorry about that..

Because Disneyland, you can get it in other country, while Ocean Park you could only get it in Hong Kong. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing this little gem in HK! Nice timing since i'm headed to HK in a few mths time and most likely going to be staying in Mongkok area.

Any idea if their crispy cha siu bao will be sold out fast in the morning or will it be available throughout the day? Looks delicious. I plan to visit this restaurant after 3pm on Monday.
