should i spend money to get a vga box to connect the ps2 to a lcd moniter?
is it THE most effective manner?
In what sense is it 'effective' ? if you're talking to get the best quality picture from PS2 with a LCD monitor, than VGA box is one of the solution. For the best product, you can refer to Gundamalpha for his advice on this.
But if u concern about your budget, you can still connect your PS2 with component cable to your LCD. Some games can support progressive scan (like Tekken 5, GOW, etc.)

thx for the advice.
ON TOPIC: have anybody touched the Panasonic 3DO before? I did when i was 10. Felt weird.
However my famiclone gave way just now, not able to test the famicom carts . Anyone know where I can get a famiclone like Micro Genius ? Don't want those NES on a chip famiclones.

yupp..it's IQ-1000.still kicking. lol. the 2 in the middle which dont have casing are super mario 3 and a collection of games in the slot (which is already kaput). i wonder if it would work if i solder a new transistor.lol. but the collection is really nice. playing for years with the same cartridge. i bet everyone will like it.
If only the English voice work was better, I could enjoy it a bit more. Still, it was gorgeous to look at during the DC days. I prefer Skies of Arcadia over Grandia II though.
