You should just key in your name as registered with Public Bank, aka the name printed in your savings account passbook.

want to ask something here

im 15 and im planning to get a debit card, so which card should i get? i guess its either pbb or maybank, since they're the most popular. i'm going to use my card for mostly online shopping, so which will b the best?

@ flame : you need your parent's signature in order to open an account.i think both pbb and maybank card is good.but i see many shopping malls(especially jusco) prefer maybank more than pbb.

furthermore,i have no problem wit my maybank debit card at all when swiping the card at most of the card terminal.but many don't accept my pbb card.

I got some problem here, my PB Day2Day Card account is locked while doing the "Verified by Visa" bcoz enter wrong info,
i call the card service number but i dont know what i gonna do next and select, can some tell me the detail?
I still noob in this area lol

Both the Maybank Cherry VISA debit card and Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card are accepted at all stores accepting VISA.


That probably because the Public Bank debit card you have is a VISA Electron. The regular debit card which is issued to all their savings account holder is a pure VISA debit card and is accepted everywhere where a VISA logo is displayed. There is no acceptance issue at all with the Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card.



Both Maybank VISA debit card and Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card can be used online.


Request to talk to someone in the credit card department. They will ask you a few questions and your card will be unlocked.

I believe you can. If my memory serves me correctly, i got a PayPal account and had it verify when i was only 17-year-old. It's been a few years but i'm pretty sure i was only 17 at the time. I wasn't qualified for a supplementary credit card (has to be at least 18 to qualify) then. So, i applied for the Public Bank VISA Electron (yellow color) and registered for PayPal right away.


Both Maybank VISA debit card and Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card can be linked to Paypal.

I have got my PB Visa debit card link to PayPal as well because MBB Visa debit couldn't do the job last time

Hmm ... not too sure. There is no over the counter acceptance issue with the EON Bank Combi debit MasterCard or Standard Chartered debit MasterCard. Did they even attempt to swipe the card before rejecting you ?

they did.they tried to swipe but cannot go thru.i forgot wats the problem but i'm sure i hv enough fund inside my card.i'm not sure wat happen.now,i only use it for online shopping only XD

yes. if i m not mistaken, the online transaction is limited, like as under 'transfer' function,user only can doing 'own account transfer' , user can't doing IBG transfer.

any oxidized dirt onthe chip?

@ future : jusco now only accept maybank debit card.they don't accept other banks' debit card.
i use it(PB ING master card) at saloon.they tried 3 times,cannot.they i give them my maybank,1 time swipe,settle.then i use it at other shops too.oso cannot.
