does this mean by if my account have over 1k i wont have to pay the annual fee ?

No. You have to charge at least RM1,000 into the card and not by having a balance of more than RM1,000 in the card. Meaning your accumulated purchases must be more than RM1,000 in a calender year to get the annual fee of RM24 waived.

QUOTE(KHOdin @ Feb 28 2010, 01:00 AM)
and which account holder need for PB VISA Electron ?

The major selling point of PBB VISA Electron is that it is not linked to your savings or current account at Public Bank (if you have any). As a matter of fact, you do not even need to be a Public Bank account holder to get the PBB VISA Electron. All you need to do is to fill in the application form and submit it. You'll get the card in a few weeks. There is no passbook or anything. Just a monthly statement that will be mailed to your house so you can keep track of your spending.

QUOTE(KHOdin @ Feb 28 2010, 01:00 AM)
i remember last time when i buying phone the seller told me to pay by cash he said pay using card will charge 3% extra ? i saw a few previous post saying that there is no charge so mean if i buy a RM1000 phone my DC will deduct RM1000 or RM1000 + 3% ?
It is illegal to charge the buyer who chooses to pay with either a credit card or debit card but many stupid IT stores in Low Yat and stores selling cellphones still impose the extra fee.

No. No problem at all. Just make sure you activate your MSOS from your M2U online banking account.

Maybank VISA debit card. Regular Citibank customers need to pay RM8 for the issuance of the VISA debit card (blue color) but it doesn't come with annual fee. Only CitiGold customers will have to pay nothing for the VISA debit card (gold color).

You do not have to be a TARC or UTAR student to qualify for one.

In order to be a CitiGold customer, you must have at least RM200,000 of deposit with Citibank at all times.

You have been DUPED !

We all are aware of the RM8 annual fee and it is optional. I had a Maybank Kawanku Savings Account briefly last year but closed it in July. Anyway, i just opened a new Kawanku Savings last week and they did not force me to pay the RM8 annual fee for the ATM/VISA debit card. On the front page of my account opening application form, it is stated clearly that my ATM/VISA debit card is annual fee free tongue.gif

Sad to say that you actually can refuse to pay the RM8 annual fee if you insisted. You should read my earlier post regarding my bad experience when I'm helping my friend to apply for one.

The good thing is that he can still change to the annual fee free ATM/VISA debit card. He just needs to go back to his account holding branch and instruct them to change it so he won't be charged the RM8 next year.

I was charged the RM8 as well. Never got a chance to refuse. How do I "instruct them to change it"?

Tell them you want to change to the annual fee free option with limited withdrawals.

Here is the difference between an annual fee free Maybank ATM/VISA debit/debit Mastercard and non-free Maybank ATM/VISA debit/debit Mastercard.

Option I
- No annual fee
- Only 4 FREE ATM cash withdrawals per month
- RM0.50 will be charged for each withdrawals made starting from the 5th time onwards in a month but this will be waived provided you have AT LEAST RM5,000 in your account when the withdrawal is made
- Balance enquiry at the ATM is free of charge
- RM1 for cash withdrawal at all other local banks ATM under the MEPS network

Option II
- RM8/pa
- Unlimited ATM withdrawals at any Maybank ATM nationwide
- Balance enquiry at the ATM is free of charge
- RM1 for cash withdrawal at all other local banks ATM under the MEPS network

So basically, if you are not willing to pay for the RM8 annual fee and at the same time will be withdrawing cash from Maybank ATM many times in a month, you just have to make sure you always have RM5,000 in your Maybank account. This way you won't be charged RM0.50 starting from the 5th withdrawal in a month. But if you do not have that much money but will still be using their ATM many times in a month, then i guess it's better for you to just pay the RM8.
