I just got my visa electron card [Public Bank] today and was wondering how to check the statement online because I want the confirmation code from paypal to confirm my card as valid or do I need to wait for the monthly statement? That would be a bother  mad.gif

Btw, adding funds from electron into paypal.. possible?

Wait for your first monthly statement la.. You'll get the code there.

How can I transfer my money from paypal to public bank?

Yes. You can. Just follow the instructions on screen.

QUOTE(Shockerz @ Dec 31 2009, 05:42 PM)
I'm sure that paypal would not recognize our bank because I did that before so no more option for money that straight transfer to bank account. Any other option?
This is now possible since like a few months ago. Minimum amount you can transfer into your Malaysian bank account is RM40 and a minimal service charge apply per transfer (RM3). No service charge if you transfer at least RM400 or more in one transaction.

Checked already, but perhaps it's New Year today, so the system has not been updated yet. blink.gif

If my memory serves me correctly, it takes a few days before it appears in your PBB e-Banking.

Kind of ... yeah. But you do not have to switch to this PBB D2D VISA if you do not want to. The annual fee is a bit higher at RM12 compared to the red or blue colored old MEPS ATM card. The annual fee for the old MEPS ATM card is only RM8.

However, one notably difference with PBB D2D VISA is that you get cash rebate when using this card. 0.8% cash back for petrol and groceries and 0.3% for all other transactions. There is no need to enter your PIN number either when purchasing something through the VISA platform. Just give the card to the cashier and and sign the approval receipt will do.
Not. Because it is a debit card.

hw long will the PB D2D cash back rebate last?

The 0.3% and 0.8% cash back is a permanent feature of Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit Card.

hey miles, i'm a student and currently i have a CIMB acc only. i would like to apply for a debit card. what bank and card is the most suitable for me?

i might be paying anything ranging from below RM100 (e.g. for discounted games on Steam, some of them are even below 10 USD!) or maybe thousands (e.g. helping a friend buy a limited-time deal for a laptop on Dell website since he doesnt have any CC or DC).

best if the card has no yearly commitment fee though. sometimes i might be short of money. well, u know, student life. hehe. laugh.gif

For zero annual fee. I think your best option will be MBB Visa Debit card. You will need to open a free basic saving account for that. If your monthly purchasing of grocery/petrol is very high, you can even consider PBB D2D Visa Debit which offer cash rebates but with RM12 annual fee.

I'm not sure about CIMB debit card though. Perhaps someone here can explain to you. Cheers~

There is a new Manchester United Debit Card issued.

Interesting black card design with Manchester United logo in the middle minus PBB's logo.

Check it out at your nearest PBB Branch.

It is either Maybank Cherry VISA debit card or Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card. If you are going to spend a lot then PBB D2D VISA is more suitable for you.

Maybank Cherry VISA debit card is the only card with no annual fee. But mind you that the reward system sucks big time ! Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit has a much better cash back system.

If you are driving and pump your own fuel and do groceries shopping yourself, the PBB D2D VISA is very suitable for you. The RM12 annual can be easily covered.

Do not open a Basic Savings Account with Maybank. Maybank's Kawanku Savings Account is much better. Just insist that you do not want to pay annual fee for the ATM/VISA debit card as you are now allowed to either choose to pay RM8/pa for unlimited withdrawals or pay nothing and get 4 FREE** withdrawals a month.

**From the 5th withdrawal onwards in a month, RM0.50 will be charged per withdrawal. If the 5th, 6th withdrawal and so on made when your account is no less than RM5,000, no penalty will be charged.
