It's been months since I have ever used a Debit Card because of lacks of function here and there. Now I believe that the situation might have improved and is asking for suggestions to which debit card would suit my needs well? All I need a debit card is for some mild online transactions and petrol fees transaction, as well as some little retail transactions every month. This was the situation last time:Maybank's Visa Debit Card was quite useless since it cannot be used for online transaction. EON's MOL prepaid card, having to bear the high cost of reloads. AmBank's debit card charges monthly fees. Care to shed some light anyone?

QUOTE(besiegetank @ Dec 25 2009, 09:16 PM) I think as time goes by debit card sure will become more useful particularly as CC will be imposed RM50 annual fee soon If you are going for free debit card, maybank visa debit will serve you well. If you want more rewards from heavy usage of debit card, I would suggest PB D2D debit card as it offers higher rebate than maybank. Can Maybank Visa Debit Card used for online transaction now?

QUOTE(besiegetank @ Dec 25 2009, 10:41 PM) Sure. If you go through several posts earlier in this thread, you can find ample of example. I think you just need to register for MSOS at Maybank website to make online transactions such as paypal using debit card. Hmm, just want to make sure if it's valid with Namecheap.com Anyone here tries it before with Namecheap?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 26 2009, 03:07 PM) Kind of ... yeah. But you do not have to switch to this PBB D2D VISA if you do not want to. The annual fee is a bit higher at RM12 compared to the red or blue colored old MEPS ATM card. The annual fee for the old MEPS ATM card is only RM8. However, one notably difference with PBB D2D VISA is that you get cash rebate when using this card. 0.8% cash back for petrol and groceries and 0.3% for all other transactions. There is no need to enter your PIN number either when purchasing something through the VISA platform. Just give the card to the cashier and and sign the approval receipt will do. Not. Because it is a debit card. Can it be used for online transactions then? Despite a higher annual fees, at least it would be better and worth for extra useful functions. (I know that from the brochures, they stated that it can be used for conducting online transactions, but this is a question to reconfirm, because I'm worried it would become like the case of MBB's Visa Card months ago - bearing Visa but cannot be used for online transactions) This post has been edited by Icehart: Dec 26 2009, 03:16 PM

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 26 2009, 04:57 PM) I have the blue one. Hardly use it. It comes with my Basic Savings Account that i opened not so long ago. Not really sure if it can be used online. Yes. I can confirm that the Public Bank Day2Day VISA can be used online. You can use it at Paypal, Amazon.com, malaysiaairlines.com, airasia.com, genting.com.my and many more. Thanks for clarifying. Will head to home branch to change my ATM card to a new one.

I've verified my paypal with Public Bank's D2D debit card and am now wondering where to get my confirmation code for Paypal? Do I have to wait for the statement to arrive at my home?

QUOTE(GHz @ Jan 1 2010, 02:45 PM) Maybe you can check your online banking. Checked already, but perhaps it's New Year today, so the system has not been updated yet.

QUOTE(bingozero @ Jan 4 2010, 07:14 PM) Sorry for late reply because my passbook leave at my hometown. Here is mine passbook I can't find any information on the publicbank on the the website and also don't know the fess and charge for my atm. I wonder any member still holding this type of passbook? That's the passbook you get when you opened a savings account with Public Finance instead of Public Bank. But since 2004, the two companies have merged under one single entity, so I think your account will have been automatically converted to Public Bank's saving account. http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=26267

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 5 2010, 01:04 AM) Oh, is it ? I did that back in year 2006 with my Public Bank VISA Electron. If i'm not mistaken, i got a successful message on the following screen once i submitted all my details. It get verified, so I am happy today. However, how do I withdraw my money? Withdraw to my bank account? It requires my full name to be accurate and match the bank here? My full name is Chong Bee Eng, but it's surname is now Eng, followed by Chong. The middle name were left blank in the check out page. How and what should I do now?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 5 2010, 06:49 PM) Your first name in Paypal system should be "Bee Eng", follows by surname "Chong". Middle name should be left blank. Try to change it yourself. Thanks, I already send a request to paypal regarding this
