It's been months since I have ever used a Debit Card because of lacks of function here and there. Now I believe that the situation might have improved and is asking for suggestions to which debit card would suit my needs well? All I need a debit card is for some mild online transactions and petrol fees transaction, as well as some little retail transactions every month.

This was the situation last time:
Maybank's Visa Debit Card was quite useless since it cannot be used for online transaction.
EON's MOL prepaid card, having to bear the high cost of reloads.
AmBank's debit card charges monthly fees.

Care to shed some light anyone? smile.gif

If you are going for free debit card, maybank visa debit will serve you well. If you want more rewards from heavy usage of debit card, I would suggest PB D2D debit card as it offers higher rebate than maybank.

Can it be used for online transactions then? Despite a higher annual fees, at least it would be better and worth for extra useful functions. smile.gif
(I know that from the brochures, they stated that it can be used for conducting online transactions, but this is a question to reconfirm, because I'm worried it would become like the case of MBB's Visa Card months ago - bearing Visa but cannot be used for online transactions)

Yes. I can confirm that the Public Bank Day2Day VISA can be used online. You can use it at Paypal, Amazon.com, malaysiaairlines.com, airasia.com, genting.com.my and many more.

I've verified my paypal with Public Bank's D2D debit card and am now wondering where to get my confirmation code for Paypal? Do I have to wait for the statement to arrive at my home? sad.gif

That's the passbook you get when you opened a savings account with Public Finance instead of Public Bank. But since 2004, the two companies have merged under one single entity, so I think your account will have been automatically converted to Public Bank's saving account.
