It is almost the same as your PBB D2D and Maybank Cherry VISA. Just that it is not linked to your savings or current account.

PBB ESSO or PBB D2D. Refer to my previous post.

No. You can't. You need to apply for PBB ESSO by filling in the application form for this card and unlike PBB D2D, you won't get it on the same day. It will take 2-3 weeks for them to ship the card to your house or workplace. This PBB ESSO is not linked to your savings account, by the way.

So, if I already have an account for PBB D2D, can I still register a new account for PBB ESSO?

That's because you do not need that anymore. When you buy something online from a website requiring 3D Password (Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode), Maybank will automatically send you a 6-digit code to your mobile phone. All you need to do is to key-in the 6-digit code sent to your mobile phone.

May I know more for the detail? I wish to use my maybank cherry debit card purchase in Apple AppStore , is it possible ?
Because I also don't have MSOS

Yes, of course. If you do not want them to hold your RM200, you can always swipe your card at the cashier counter. This way only the exact amount will be charged to your card.

Hi, I registered for a Maybankard a month ago, and I got charged RM8 and RM39.90 for debit advice and direct debit pos? Can someone tell me what debit advice is and why was I charged RM39.90?

14-Sep-2011 DEBIT ADVICE RM39.90
09-Aug-2011 DIRECT DEBIT POS RM39.90
10-Aug-2011 DEBIT ADVICE RM8.00

That's the debit advice transaction. I have withdrawn money once and that was it because this is my savings account. If I had known I'd be charged monthly, then I would've just gone to CIMB as they do not deduct anything from my account. Does anyone know why this happened?? I'm pretty pissed off. The main reason I got an account is to keep my money safe, not to get it deducted even when I don't use it. I hope someone can answer me.. TQSM

**OH, and I cancelled the monthly insurance thing already. They shouldnt be charging me anything.

The RM8 charged to your account on 10 Aug 2011 is the annual fee for your debit card and CIMB Bank ATM card is RM8/pa too.

As for the other two, i guess that was for your insurance ? If they are still charging you, it means the insurance is not actually canceled yet. Contact your agent or the insurance company asap.

Depends on the condition of your insurance policy. And you are likely to be asked to show proof that you have already canceled the insurance policy.

So there is no written proof. That's the problem. It'd be good if you still remember the bank officer that helped you to cancel the insurance policy. Try to refer back to him/her.

I would like to ask a question about online banking for Public Bank Day2Day VISA card.

If we use other public bank debit card that not linked to our bank account, when we check the transaction history by login to public bank website -> go to "Account Inquiry" -> "Transaction History" -> "Credit/Debit card", then select our debit card and Inquiry type and then click on "Submit" button, we will be seeing the "posting date" and the "transaction date". The "transaction date" is the date we perform transaction while the "posting date" is the date the funds sent to the merchants.

In order to prove to the merchants that we already paid the amount, both the "transaction date" and the "posting date" are very important.

I had linked my paypal account to my Day2Day Visa card.

I checked my transaction through online banking. On public bank website, when I go to "Account Inquiry" -> "Transaction History" -> "Deposit Account, then select my bank account and Transaction Period and then click "Submit", only one type of date is shown - "Transaction Date". However, the "Transaction Date" shown in the same row with my paypal confirmation ID is not the day I tried to link my paypal account with my card, the date is the day the funds sent by public bank to Paypal. Means the "transaction date" shown is actually same as the "posting date".

When I try to find the actual "transaction date" by going to "Account Inquiry" -> "Transaction History" -> "Credit/Debit card", the message "Your Request Could Not Be Executed. You Do Not Have The Relevant Account(s) For This Feature." was shown.

Are these normal? How can I view the actual "transaction date"? Lets say I pay for something online by using Day2Day Visa card on 13 September, the "posting date" is 16 September, how or where can I find the transaction date 13 September?

Actually, you only need to show them the money has indeed been transferred to them which you can find in your savings account transaction history (if you are asked to prove it but this is extremely rare because all you need to do is to ask them to check it on their own system).

Anyway, i have never used my PBB D2D VISA debit to pay for anything expect for petrol and groceries (last time i used it was more than a year ago) but i seem to remember there is a transaction date column in PBB Online. And for certain transactions posted at a later date, you can refer to the actual transaction date in the transaction history column.

By the way, do note that if you transfer money out from your account to another local bank in Malaysia, there will be no "transaction date" or "posting date" because it will be treated as local IBG and doesn't involve VISA.

For the Day2Day card, the transaction date showed is not the date I attempt to pay the money. It is the date which the bank release the authorised charges and send the funds to the merchant.

Which is why i asked you to refer to the transaction description column.

BTW, some transaction date recorded is later than the date you actually submitted the payment because your card was processed offline. And transaction date and posting date aren't really that important to you unless you need to prove something to someone. However, merchants usually would not ask you to prove anything at all because they can simply refer to their own records.

I'm currently using Public Bank Electron Visa Debit Card.I received my card on 15/9,and today I went to the bank for applying the Public Internet Banking's serial to top up money to my paypal and I successfully log in my account and changed my ID and PW.I'm definitely sure I have linked my debit card to my Paypal account. I want to top up my balance but after I entered my balance and log in my Public Internet Banking account,it shows a notification as below:

Transaction Failed
This Request Could Not Be Executed. Please Register Accounts That You Would like to transfer funds from at your nearest public bank account.

And I'm logged out.Ihave no idea what's going on!?

Plus,I unable to get my debit card verified from Paypal. It says they were unable to verify this card. Please check if the information I entered is correct. If the the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card.

Oh my,I feel faint and frustrated now,I never thought of using a debit online would be so challenging!

Anyone who is kindly helpful enough please give me a hand,I'm a debit card newbie,so please don't laugh at my stupidity. :\
