Hi, I registered for a Maybankard a month ago, and I got charged RM8 and RM39.90 for debit advice and direct debit pos? Can someone tell me what debit advice is and why was I charged RM39.90?

14-Sep-2011 DEBIT ADVICE RM39.90
09-Aug-2011 DIRECT DEBIT POS RM39.90
10-Aug-2011 DEBIT ADVICE RM8.00

That's the debit advice transaction. I have withdrawn money once and that was it because this is my savings account. If I had known I'd be charged monthly, then I would've just gone to CIMB as they do not deduct anything from my account. Does anyone know why this happened?? I'm pretty pissed off. The main reason I got an account is to keep my money safe, not to get it deducted even when I don't use it. I hope someone can answer me.. TQSM

**OH, and I cancelled the monthly insurance thing already. They shouldnt be charging me anything.

The RM8 charged to your account on 10 Aug 2011 is the annual fee for your debit card and CIMB Bank ATM card is RM8/pa too.

As for the other two, i guess that was for your insurance ? If they are still charging you, it means the insurance is not actually canceled yet. Contact your agent or the insurance company asap.

I'll be going to the branch on Monday. The lady who was in charge of cancelling my insurance thing said everything's done and cancelled. Can I ask for a refund?

Depends on the condition of your insurance policy. And you are likely to be asked to show proof that you have already canceled the insurance policy.
