DPC outing...look at his happy face...he is a happy playful boy...

Don't worry about Poppy's operation..i used to be so worried when i sent Pepper for the ops that i cried right outside of the clinic after i left her there 
Doc said for us we feels as if it's very painful but for the dog their tolerance of pain is much much more than us human, so it's just a small ops for them.
Pepper 1st day is just sleeping and sleeping and manja..i fed her kibbles bit by bit and gave her glucose water.
2nd day she's walking around and playing with her toy, but can still see she dare not stretch her body.
3rd day, already like a little dragon jump up and down =.="
She fully recovered in a week. But i didn't bring her out 1st week coz scared overstress her wound, only bring her out 2nd week after ops for exercise.

About the stitches, you can request the vet to do inner stitch, it's those that don't need to go back to doc to take out the stitch and good thing is the dog can lick the wound and will not be able to bite out the stitches.
For Pepper's case, the stitch is barely visible even on the 1st day when we went pick her up.



I bought e-collar but when i put it on her, she refused to move and will just sit there regardless how long it is as long as the e-collar still on her... =.="
So i took it off after she sitting there 30min with such position on 1st day itself.



As for care for the wound, just keep it dry and clean will do.
If got infection, the skin around the wound will feel hot (tht's what the vet told me), then will need to bring back to the vet.
After ops 1 week only can bath the dog.

Don't worry too much.
Poppy will recover in no time ^^

awww poor pepper looks so sad in the ecollar. Glad to hear surgery was a breeze for her which vet did you go to for the spay?

mtee7, just to add a bit on Poppy biting the newspaper in the play pen.. maybe you could distract her with some toys? I bought some Kong rubber toys which are hollow in the middle, and I stuff kibbles inside. I give these toys to my puppy when I leave for work.. it keeps her occupied cos she'll be busy trying to get her kibbles out from the toy. I can't say it keeps her occupied 100% of the time, but it does help.. less time spent on biting/tossing her pee pad around

lynnoyw, I also seem to have this problem. My Poppy's mouth is starting to have stains and I'm looking at different products to try and keep them clean.

I went to the pet's exhibition on Sunday and it was really packed! So many people brought their furkids out to have fun! Too bad Poppy is still not rdy to go out yet (3rd vaccine done! Now waiting for the 10 days to pass, then we're rdy to go out!)

On the first shop (the pet shop in Taman Megah next to the big food court) had many cute and really beautiful MS for sale. I saw at least 3 MS there. I also saw a cream colour MS (which I think is a mix bread) for sale at another pet booth.

One question, my poppy is almost reaching 5 months old. She's currently eating orijen for puppies..I noticed the Crude Protein content is very high (almost 40% i think). Is this brand ok for my pup? I fed her eukanuba (spl?) at first and ppl told me its not good for the dog so i switched. I've also got a sample of Addiction (salmon) but have yet to let Poppy try it out. Is this a good brand as well?
