Weight I think should not be a problem if the dog is healthy and active. Just because a dog is a little heavier than the standard size does not mean he is overweight. It is probably due to the genes. (maybe one or both of its parents are bigger sized than normal). No worries if your dog is a little bigger...as long as they're healthy, I think that should be more important

You should feel the sides of the dog for a better gauge. If the dog is overweight, you would not be able to feel the ribs with a little pressure (kind of like pushing on a soft pillow). If he is underweight, you would be able to feel the ribs very quickly with a light touch. The 'ideal' situation would be applying a little pressure (again like the soft pillow) before feeling the ribs.

It's really far from our place though..for emergency cases we'll go to Taman Segar Veterinary Hospital. Near to our house and they are well equipped. However, their doctors are on shift, so no guarantee that u'll always get good doc. So far, 2 docs treated Pepper before and they are good
