Just did a push-pull on my CCF, an easy 4C drop for me wink.gif Priming at 3.85 GHz right now, temps at 55C according to CoreTemp.

My Biostar board can't raise the voltage past 1.5V; any more than that and it would BSOD on boot. sad.gif

Can unlock to X3, but not with Biostar. I need that core select function which Asus and MSI have to unlock. My board's limiting the voltage, dropped the CPU-NB to stock speeds and voltages and CPU now can go over 1.5V. Just make sure to sink those FETs kuntawakaw biggrin.gif

so far im about to stable it 3.7 but with vcore btween 1.47~1.44...kindda high...
later if room im about to rent have ekon then ill dare to put 1.5vcore..
now kindda afraid mobo die since i have no spare money to buy new...(Eventho 80mm fan spinning just on top of the mosfets heatsink)
single core? later.single core means no games for my lil bro (OC takes time in night...day time use play games..with same setting-just like burn in perhaps)

Anyone here uses the AMD retention kit from Prolimatech for their heatsink???

Does any production from other companies has the same design as the prolimatech? I wouldnt want the one from Xigmatek as it is only designed exclusive to work with their HS only

I read around and it says that the retention kits wobbles when the HS is not yet fix?

Got pix?? brows.gif real ones not press pictures wink.gif

hi guys...

thinking of giving my 5200+ Brisbane some oc...

currently at 235MHz, dropped HT to x4, and RAM at 667MHz config...

at this config, it can boot, load windows, but would auto restart, so want to give it a mild electric shock (aka increase vcore)

but the oc menu of my mobo (Biostar TA790GX XE) is pretty confusing... on 1 hand it has the "CPU FID/VID Control", where i can set the CPU voltage between (and inclusive of) 0.800V to 1.350V, and a "Voltage Configuration:, which gives the option of "CPU Overvoltage", allowing of small increment of voltage, each step is +0.012V...

so which one should i go for first???

just use the cpu fid first..
later if need more voltage can use additional cpu overvoltage..
that thing iinm can undervolt also..

CPU FID/VID control allow you to move the volt in high interval, once you try to find more precise in volt that's the function of CPU overvoltage. (the increment so little)

Tweak it according ur need.

FID - Frequency ID
VID - Voltage ID

so fid for cpu multiplier
voltage for err.. cpu voltage

those stand for default value for cpu for the mobo to adjust accordingly..

can i use the settings in AMD OverDrive as a gauge??? it says 1.3V...

but a check at CPU-Z shows it fluctuates from 1.31V to 1.344V when running at 2.7GHz...

can.. it could be ur default voltage.. 1.325 maybe can hit 3ghz already..
that fluctuations maybe becoz of the mobo..
